These guys showed up on time and did an excellent job! We had two trees taken down today, and I will definitely be having them back to take down two more. They were courteous, professional, and worked efficiently from start to finish.
Kenny kept in touch throughout the entire planning process and even came out to the house beforehand to look everything over and make sure the job would go smoothly. I really appreciated the care they took while bringing the trees down and making sure everything was done safely and properly.
It’s hard to find people who communicate well, show up when they say they will, and do quality work, but these guys did all three. I would absolutely recommend them!

These guys did an amazing job getting a huge tree off my driveway. Fare, fast and friendly. I would recommend Kenny, Darin and their crew to anyone. They take scheduled jobs and emergency events and have the proper equipment for any situation. I have used them for multiple jobs over many years and they have NEVER disappointed!

Kenny has been great to deal with! He let me know ahead of time that it might be approximately a week before they could get to me. I was fine with that and they ended up getting to me ahead of time. I came home and was 100% please with the work! I highly recommend them. I know who to go to if I ever need tree work again!

I’m sure the reviews are honest, however my experience was less than great. I was given a quote and each week it was “I got you down buddy I haven’t forgotten about ya” week after week for 3 weeks. Granted the job was small, it’s better to decline a job you don’t feel is worth your time than to drag someone’s time out for weeks on end. I ended up using Cole Brackins Tree Service.
Frequently Asked Questions About Hometown Tree Service
What makes a tree hazardous and in need of removal?
A tree becomes hazardous when it leans significantly, shows structural cracks, has a compromised root system, or threatens nearby structures like homes or power lines. At Hometown Tree Service, we assess these risks and use specialized equipment for safe sectional dismantling, protecting your property and surrounding landscape during removal.
How does crown thinning help reduce storm damage?
Crown thinning selectively removes interior branches to reduce wind resistance and allow air to pass through the canopy more easily. This preventative technique lowers the chance of limb failure or entire tree uprooting during high winds. We recommend it as part of seasonal maintenance in Crawfordville, FL, especially before hurricane season.
What's the difference between tree trimming and pruning?
Trimming typically focuses on shaping, clearance, and curb appeal, while pruning targets structural health by removing dead, diseased, crossing, or weak branches. Hometown Tree Service uses precision pruning to improve long-term tree stability, sunlight penetration, and reduce the risk of limb failure over time.
When should you schedule tree maintenance in Florida?
Seasonal trimming is best done in late winter or early spring before new growth begins, and again in late fall to prepare for storm season. In Crawfordville, FL, we also recommend preventative pruning before hurricane season to reduce wind load and remove weak limbs that could cause damage.
Can stump grinding prevent tree regrowth?
Yes, grinding the stump below ground level destroys the root crown and prevents most species from resprouting. At Hometown Tree Service, we grind stumps deep enough to eliminate regrowth, remove trip hazards, and prepare the site for reseeding or new landscaping.
What happens during a controlled tree lowering?
Controlled lowering uses ropes, rigging, and sometimes cranes to carefully section and lower large tree parts without damaging nearby structures or landscape. Hometown Tree Service protects the ground during removal and ensures safe, precise dismantling even in tight residential spaces near fences, garages, or power lines.
