I had an outstanding experience at the Extra Space Storage location on 5600 2nd St. NE in Washington, DC. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean, organized, and accessible the facility was. It was great to see that there were clean units available and ready for move-in.
When I first walked into the office, no one was at the front desk. I pressed the service button, and within seconds someone acknowledged me over the intercom. She explained that she was cleaning a unit and would be with me in just a few minutes. That associate was René, and she provided some of the best customer service I’ve experienced.
René took the time to understand exactly what I needed. She carefully explained the different pricing options, including the online promotions and the monthly rates, so I could make an informed decision. She answered all of my questions with patience and professionalism.
She first showed me a unit on the third floor. When I asked if there were any similar units on the first floor, she didn’t hesitate to walk me there and show me additional options. She could have simply told me the units were the same, but instead she went above and beyond to make sure I was completely comfortable with my choice.
While helping me, another customer came into the office. René acknowledged them immediately and managed to assist both of us without making either customer feel ignored. Her ability to multitask while remaining friendly, attentive, and professional was truly impressive.
The combination of René’s knowledge, professionalism, and genuine desire to help made the entire rental process smooth and stress-free. In fact, her exceptional service was one of the main reasons I signed my rental agreement on the spot.
This facility is clean, well-maintained, and easy to access, but what truly sets it apart is the outstanding customer service. René is an absolute rock star, and Extra Space Storage is fortunate to have her on their team.
Five stars all the way! I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a storage facility with excellent service and a seamless rental experience.

At 66 years old and transitioning in space I am new to storage rentals. My experience at ExtraSpace was surprising. I’m not sure why I expected such a negative experience in storage space rental, however, from my first step into the door, I felt like a customer and by time I left, I felt like a neighbor. I like to thank the staff for their professionalism, their kindness and their patience with me and getting a storage unit and establishing the level of my need. Know that I will recommend extra space storage to friends and family who mentioned to me that they’re looking for storage space.

Listen to my concerns and even gave great suggestions. She took the time to show me the different size units to get a better idea of what I need and which one was cost-effective so at the end I felt like I was playing the price is right because the options were unlimited. the cleanliness and the security of the building gave me confirmation that this was the right place. I like how you’re not tide into a contract and can also upgrade or leave your unit any moment when you need to.
