This place is horrible. I truly do not understand how it has such high ratings. Once ExtraSpace storage took over, everything went downhill immediately. There was zero notification from them or the previous company regarding the transition of ownership. I went to pay my rent online one day and the website said my account no longer existed. Of course I was worried, so I went to the facility. That’s when an ExtraSpace employee told me they had just taken over the facility. I should have moved my things out then. The facility used to be clean, safe, always functional, plenty of carts for tenants, even a free box truck for moving. When they first took over, the front door would open for anyone, just like the automatic ones at the store, great. We started with a lack of communication and safety. Now? Seems to be a very high turnover rate in the front office. No more box truck. The bathrooms are utterly disgusting and not stocked. There are literally three carts for the entire facility of several hundred storage units. During business hours, there is not always someone in the office for assistance. At least half the time, the app does not register that you are at the main door of the facility or your unit door (yes, even with the Bluetooth on) so you can’t get in. There are times when it does register and when you click “unlock,” it says there’s an error and to try again later. So, once again, you are locked out. There have been multiple instances where I need to get something from my storage unit, and the Wi-Fi Is down only in my area of the facility and I cannot get in. The first time I asked for help and that was a disaster. It took the woman at least 20 minutes to get into my unit with their unlocking tool from the outside. The second time, I didn’t even bother. Would there even be someone available in the office to help? The only reason I have stayed here is because I’m too lazy to move my things across town to a different business. Kind of an extra pain when you’re not even sure there will be a cart to help you move things around! But at this point, I think I’m finally angry enough to do it. For such a large company that has so many facilities they’ve taken over locally, you would think they would be significantly more organized. Get it together.
