Stay away from Extra Space and know your rights as a consumer. My rate went from $69 a month in October of 2025 to $230 in July of 2026. That’s a 230% increase in less than a year. They are REQUIRED by California law to provide notice of any increase. And they are also REQUIRED to provide documentation of this notice which they CANNOT provide. Note, a “post mark” on a spreadsheet is not documentation. If your rates raise and you don’t get notice even if they say they sent it, which they don’t, and they don’t refund you… do a chargeback. Your bank requires this proof as does the state of California. They won’t be able to provide it. Good luck with this shady establishment.
Update: Management never reached out to provide any documentation of them providing the required notice of an increase.

The customer service in regard to booking/closing is great. However, when I returned to retrieve my belongings they were COVERED in mice droppings. The worst I’ve ever experienced. As a traveling professional I’ve used a lot of storage spaces and this is by far the worst I’ve ever seen. I don’t keep food or scented items in my unit but still my belongings became covered in mouse droppings. Very gross. If you rent here be sure to cover everything or be prepared to detail clean everything afterward. When I booked the unit initially it smelled like curry and I worried a bit that someone was storing food somewhere on the floor. Perhaps this is what is happening? But the associate at the front desk had no recourse for the damage of my belongings other than offering me their dumpster for use. I wouldn’t rent here again given the amount of mice damage to my stuff.
