Received the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced from Damian F. I came to the store simply to purchase some supplies, but what I witnessed and personally experienced was completely unacceptable. There were two gentlemen ahead of me, one Caucasian and one Hispanic. The difference in Damian’s treatment of these two customers was impossible to ignore. He was friendly, talkative, and engaging with the Caucasian customer. Yet with the Hispanic customer, his demeanor changed dramatically—he was rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in providing the same level of service. When it was my turn, I was treated in much the same way. Damian was cold, dismissive, and unwilling to provide complete answers to even basic questions. I am not Caucasian either, and after witnessing his behavior toward the customers before me and then experiencing it firsthand, I was left with the disturbing impression that his attitude toward customers may be influenced by their race or ethnicity. The experience became even worse after I returned home and called the store to inquire about the stock level of some test strips. Damian simply responded, “We should have some,” and then abruptly hung up on me. That is not merely poor customer service—it is disrespectful and completely unprofessional. Prejudice and discriminatory treatment have absolutely no place in a business serving the public. Every customer deserves to be treated with the same dignity, courtesy, and professionalism, regardless of race, ethnicity, or background. I have filed a formal complaint with management because this behavior should not be ignored or tolerated. Based on what I witnessed and personally experienced, I strongly believe management should investigate whether other customers have raised similar concerns about Damian’s conduct. Someone who treats members of the public this way should not be placed in a customer-facing position.

I’ve been going for the past 5 years and the last few visits with new hires have been irritating. These 20 year olds that have worked here for a month or two read this paper and try to chastise you based on the print out that constantly reads a few readings wrong and more experienced personal knows that. When you point that out they get defensive and flip on you like you are wrong for responding back to their nonsense. Kinda getting weird in there… unfortunate

On Saturday, January 30, 2026, my wife and I went to the Leslie Pool supplies in Vacaville Ca. We were in the market for a pool vacuum, our second in 5 years. We were helped by "Michael" he appeared helpful, and actually tried to sell us on a completely remote vacuum, which was cheaper than the one we ultimately decided on, which was a Polaris VRX iQ+ robotic pool vacuum. We made our purchase and went on our way. After returning home, we assembled the caddy for the vacuum and deployed it into our pool. 30 mins went by and I went to check on it, and noticed only one side was non-operational. One brush and wheel wasn't spinning. As I used the lift system to get it out of the pool, it couldn't even make its way up the side of the pool, and I had to use a hook to remove it from the water. After removing it from the water, it appeared there were "parts" floating behind the front drive wheel, which was not allowing it to work properly. We packed it up, went back to the store and talked to Michael about the machine not functioning properly. We asked if we could exchange it for one that worked properly. He said, "well you already put it in the water, so its a warranty issue now". I said wait, we bought it 2 hours ago, and it didnt make it 30 min?. He said its a warranty issue, drop it off and we will look at it next week. He also stated because we registered it with Polaris, it wouldn't allow us to have a warranty for the second one. Mind you we just spent $1,600 dollars and some change, and it wasn't like we used it a month, week, or even a day. I told him to just refund me my money, and I'll go somewhere else. He became condescending and rude, saying it would take District manager approval to do a refund. I said well, call them then. He then handed me a card with a service/warranty directory information number on it, and told me to leave the store. The number he gave me wasn't anything to do with the district manager. He was rude, and I've never felt this way after making a purchase on anything before, much less the amount we spent Saturday. I will never set foot in this store again, and was ready to never set foot in another Leslie pool supplies store again. See part 2 on Leslie Pool supplies Davis CA store.
