  Very Disappointed in Customer Service I usually only write positive reviews, and it takes a lot for me to write a negative one. Unfortunately, my recent experience with World Market’s online customer service was extremely disappointing. I placed an online order for 31 items totaling over $1,000, all Christmas gifts. Three boxes arrived badly crushed, including packaging around each of the fragile items. 13 were not in gift-giving condition. I was initially told to photograph everything, provide UPC numbers and product information, and email it all to Customer Service. This took me over an hour. When I followed up because no one contacted, I was then told I needed to open every damaged box to determine whether the individual items were damaged. I explained that I am permanently disabled and specifically order online because going to stores and shipping locations can be difficult for me. I was told my options were to accept 10% off the damaged items or personally take 13 items to FedEx for return. When I asked if World Market could arrange a pickup, I was told that wasn't an option. I called again and spoke with another representative who was incredibly kind and empathetic. He told me I could bring the damaged items to my local World Market for a refund. I was relieved, but also frustrated that this option wasn't offered to me initially. I don't normally look for compensation, but after spending over $1,000, receiving poorly packaged merchandise, spending more than an hour documenting the damage, and making multiple calls, I was disappointed that nothing was offered to acknowledge the inconvenience. Even more frustrating, some of these items are now out of stock, so I can't replace the Christmas gifts I originally purchased. I love World Market and its unique products, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I hope they improve their packaging for fragile items and make their online customer service and return process much more customer-friendly. The second representative was wonderful and truly empathetic. Unfortunately, the overall experience left me very disappointed.

  Poor customer service at Temecula World Market. Cashier 614395 CKOT 3629 131 003 doesn't greet customer with a simple "Hello" or a "Thank you for shopping with us." This is a true reflection why brick and mortar businesses are looking there customer base.
