If you want your holiday ruined, store your belongings here.
This is the second time our storage unit has been broken into. The first was in May 2026, and we gave this place the benefit of the doubt and kept our unit. Fast forward to July 3, 2026 we were supposed to leave for a camping trip, I opened our unit to find that whatever we had left was gone.
According to management, there were “no signs of forced entry,” yet thousands of dollars worth of camping gear disappeared. Our Yeti cooler, 10 person tent, expensive camp chairs, shower tent, 8 pairs of expensive shoes, and other electonic camping equipment were all stolen.
The explanation of “no signs of forced entry” raises serious questions. If there truly was no forced entry, then how did our belongings disappear? It’s difficult not to wonder whether this could have involved unauthorized internal access or another serious security failure. Either way, that’s unacceptable.
What’s even more disappointing is the lack of support from management. After two break-ins, we received little to no help.
To whoever stole our belongings: I hope karma catches up with you. You didn’t just steal our gear you ruined our holiday plans.
I will be contacting my attorney to discuss our legal options. If you’re considering renting a unit here, think twice.

My experience with Extra Space Storage was quite unusual because my unit was burglarized. What I me someone or or somebody's gain access & had stolen some highly collected items out of my unit. The other bad part is my unit was rat infested after the thefts and had rodent verman feses,so I had to let all of it go.Good thing I had insurance. The insurance only covered a fraction of my loses. If you choose to store your belongings the in Stanton CA be sure to keep a eye on your unit by visiting once or twice a month would be my advice. One thing is likely true nobody is going to tell straight up honestly? After the thefts my unit was turned upside down.Good luck with your choices.
