Cons: Online inventory is inaccurate. Items frequently sold already damaged.
Delivery can’t be trusted, due to significant delays and more than 50% of the items being delivered damaged. So my guy drove an hour (each way) to pick up the LAST cabinet we needed (after having to return 6 of the 14 cabinets due to being delivered damaged) that was available at another store to purchase online for in-store pickup.
Item was not on the shelf. Asked an employee for help. Rather than looking it up, employee said “online inventory is often inaccurate.” I suggested they confirm its existence at a different store and have it delivered to me by the next day. He said he couldn’t do that. I said in that case I’d like to speak to someone who can. He said he was the only person that could handle the issue, and suggested we drive to another store and additional 1.5 hours away. I asked how he could guarantee the item was in stock at the other store, if the inventory was inaccurate. He said HIS inventory was accurate, just the ONLINE inventory is inaccurate (ok, where do they GET the online numbers from? Perhaps I’m just overly optimistic, but this seems like a problem that a ma major corporation would be interested in having fixed?) He said having it delivered next day was not an option. I suggested again that if it was infect in stock, then there should be nothing prohibiting a Lowe’s truck delivering it to my home address tomorrow. He asked if I wanted to speak to the manager. …….Yes.
The manager asked for the item number. I said they should be able to look that up (and if the online inventory is completely off, there’s clearly something wrong with the item numbers as it is). He did so, and saw it was indeed in stock. Who would have guessed! Went to the section, found it up on a high shelf.
Apparently the first associate neither looked it up nor went to the section to look. Wasted an hour of our time. I’m guessing they will NOT be reimbursing me the $40 I had to pay my guy for that hour.
