- KPKitty Phung5 days ago3.0I heard about this place and wanted to check it out since I only had a few hours after getting off our cruise. Honestly, it wasn't as exciting as I expected. The name "World Market" really got me excited, but the experience was a bit underwhelming. They have snacks and goods from all over the world, which is nice, but that's about it. The store is big, and if you need help, there aren't many staff members around. You'll probably have to walk all the way to the front to find someone. The checkout line was also really slow, so make sure you have some time to spare if you plan on visiting. Overall, it was okay, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit.

The staff there was so very helpful after looking through all of the regular stock the staff member directed me to the clearance area where we found the perfect wicker basket. Personalized services is a nearly lost art form, yet still available at Cost Plus world market in Santa Barbara on State Street. Five stars from me.

His helping me with such kindness and patience while having to multitask at a very busy time was so worthy of praise, he was unflappable amidst constant interruptions. He also took the chair I purchased out of the box and loaded it into my car for me. Hang on to this employee WM he is a gem. Store manager was very helpful as well, considering this store is understaffed.

But once you enter the restroom, you're transported to a truck stop bathroom off of the 5 freeway somewhere outside of Fresno, CA.
