  Disappointing and insulting customer service experience I've been shopping at World Market on Blossom Hill for nearly 10 years and have always loved their collection. Unfortunately, my experience today has left me wondering whether I will ever return to this location. I visited the store to resolve a billing error from the previous evening, when I had been charged twice for a lantern I purchased only once. I also picked up a couple of additional items during my visit. When I approached the cashier and began explaining that I had been there yesterday, she immediately interrupted me, rather rudely stating that they don't make adjustments to yesterday's purchases against today's bill. She didn't even allow me to finish my sentence. I clarified that I wasn't asking for an adjustment but simply wanted a duplicate charge corrected. Initially, she couldn't locate the item on my receipt, so I had to point it out. What followed was genuinely shocking. She repeatedly questioned how she could be sure I hadn't taken two lamps from the store. I asked her to check the identical item numbers on the receipt, but she continued suggesting that I might have walked away with two items. When I asked why I would take another item after already being billed, her response was, "I don't know, I wasn't here yesterday." I found this incredibly insulting. I had come in good faith to correct a billing mistake made by the store, only to be treated as though I was being dishonest. It was only when she realized I was referring to a lantern rather than a lamp that her attitude suddenly changed. She then processed the refund as though nothing had happened. While I appreciate that the charge was eventually corrected, that was never the real issue. A billing mistake is understandable. Making a longtime customer feel like they are being accused of stealing is not.

  I’ve been shopping at the World Market in Almaden for decades and have always had great experiences with the friendly, helpful staff. Unfortunately my recent experiences with Amy- manager on duty, were completely different. Amy both in person & over the phone was rude, condescending & sarcastic. Her behavior made me feel my reasonable questions were being dismissed. Most concerning was her tone as it was consistently dismissive, condescending, and sarcastic. Amy’s knowledge of the products and store policies was not up to the standards I would expect from a manager. One example: I asked if an online sale item could be price-matched in store and Amy told me World Market does not price-match items on online versus the in store and I would have to buy it at full price if I decided to purchase it in the store. Within five minutes I confirmed that the store does offer price matching from another associate and when I kindly notified Amy about this, she did not acknowledge the misinformation and provided no responses. Thankfully, Maria was wonderful! She helped me locate the items I wanted, confirmed the price match, placed my order & explained the timeframe. When I later called to update the store about a new order, Amy answered the phone told me the new online order would be canceled & that my existing order would arrive “whenever it arrives.”  She refused to provide a timeframe, & told me not to order anything online without checking with the store first. Because of this, I canceled & reordered everything, then drove 30+ minutes to Stevens Creek, where the staff were professional and very helpful! And I was assured orders usually come in within 1-2 weeks. I hope management reviews Amy’s communication, lack of professionalism, & knowledge of products and store policies. I’m disappointed these interactions have made me reconsider returning to the Almaden location.

  Tienen algunas cosas de diferentes partes del mundo,pero me da risa ver lo que traen de mexico,salsa picante,frijoles y maiz🙂eso se encuentra en cualquier tienda aqui,y no es lo que se vende alla,me imagino que es lo mismo con otros productos de otros paises,pero tambien tienen cosas interesantes y bonitas,lo que me gusto es el te que vende ahi.¡En fin! interesante.

  An eclectic variety of foreign foods. Lots of cool retro candies. A fun store..I can spend hours there.
