  I think I've written two reviews in my lifetime, but this experience warranted a full honest review. I had a horrific experience with Lolita and Chris Villa-Giroux. Lolita came to bid and measure my closets, and sent an acceptable proposal. I was surprised to hear the lead time was 2.5 months, but I accepted. Fast-forward to install, they could not install one of the closets as planned due to plumbing (a bathroom) being on the other side of the wall. This should have been vetted/inspected prior to installation. Instead, it took four weeks to order and deliver new parts, for which myself or the organizer had to be home to receive, which was a complete hassle. I was then told they had no installers available once the parts were delivered. In sum, once eventually installed, it came to a total of almost SIX weeks between the original install date and final install date. Needless to say, being out of a closet for my son for six weeks was more than inconvenient. To add insult to injury, the installer left parts and trash in my garage which I need to pay a dumping fee to get rid of because they're too large to fit in my residential trash cans (pictures below). When I attempted to voice my frustration with the Container Store, I was told they could not offer me any more of a reduction than they were currently offering (which was not sufficient) and that they would no longer speak with me, and I could further communicate with the organizer if I so wished (screenshot below). I've never dealt with such terrible customer service, and truthfully wish I had just gone with Valet Closets with whom I had worked with in the past. I will never give business to The Container Store again.

  Zephen the store manager helped us return an item and was very kind in understanding the situation. I would highly recommend this store for customer service

  Buyer beware: never buy an Elfa system from Container Store. Their 3P installers damaged my opposing wall (bathroom), cracking tile and causing damage that I had to pay to repair. Container Store accepted the installer’s conclusion that they were not at fault, but I had documentation (and a screw sticking out of the wall….) proving otherwise. Very disappointing that they do not stand by their customers. Of course the installer has no incentive to own up to their mistake. I will never be returning to container store and have recommended to everyone I know to stay away

  Could the employees not watch customers so overtly (from 6 ft away?) Maybe also not have 3 more standing around watching me and my child from behind too? We were by the register looking at little gifts and I'm sure there are cameras anyway. They could be more discreet with their stereotyping. There were probably people actually stealing upstairs and in the corners. At Santana Row. I'm sure the cashier remembers me, he signaled a co-worker to watch us, right in front of me, and then took over a minute later. I pretended not to see, but I see everything. I bought the items anyway because my child wanted them. Maybe get the employees some racism training. I won't be back and I do NOT recommend this place. Update: It was the very tall employee, on Thursday, my second visit of the week. (The staff on Monday were nice and helpful.) PS: Also, this store is NOT Bed Bath & Beyond they just have the signs. I used to shop at a real one, way off. Also, I saw $2 chip clips for $8 and I think that says a lot.

  We had an outstanding experience working with Bridget Morgan at The Container Store, Santana Row in San Jose, during our visit on July 17. Bridget helped us design Elfa closet systems for our two walk-in closets, and she was professional, knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly attentive to our needs. She created closet designs that are not only beautiful and stylish but also highly functional and practical for our everyday lives. This is actually the second time Bridget has helped us. She designed an Elfa closet system for us back in 2019, and we've enjoyed using it every day for years. It has made our home significantly more organized and comfortable, so we were excited to work with her again. Once again, she exceeded our expectations. Bridget's expertise, attention to detail, and genuine commitment to customer satisfaction make her a tremendous asset to The Container Store. If you're looking for someone who truly listens and creates thoughtful, customized solutions, we highly recommend asking for Bridget. Thank you for another wonderful experience!
