A couple of days ago, I purchased a glass drink dispenser for $10.99. I came back to buy a second one because I wanted a matching set, but the exact same item was now priced at $13.99. I politely explained that I had just purchased it for $10.99 and was hoping someone could look into it or ask a manager if the price could be honored. Instead of trying to help, Maddie immediately acted as if I was mistaken and suggested I was looking at the wrong item. When I explained that I knew exactly which dispenser I had purchased, she simply said, “I don’t know, do you want it or not?” in a dismissive tone. I understand that cashiers do not control store prices, and I wasn’t expecting her to magically change the price. What I did expect was basic customer service offering to check with a manager, asking to see my receipt, or at least showing some willingness to help. Instead, I was made to feel like my concern didn’t matter and that I was inconveniencing her by asking a simple question. The issue isn’t the extra $3. The issue is how customers are treated. A little kindness and professionalism go a long way, and unfortunately, that was completely missing during this interaction. I hope Hobby Lobby management addresses this and reminds employees that customers deserve to be treated with respect, even when the answer is ultimately “no.”

Sales items were not "special purchases" but they were the actual high quality items that Hobby Lobby is known for. Despite the high volume of shoppers, everyone was so polite and not rushing around. I was there to observe, however, there were so many great items and startlingly great markdown I was tempted to stop observing and just shop!
