I had just arrived in San Diego and needed a space to put my moving boxes since I was going to be staying at an Airbnb for a couple of weeks. I decided to use this location since it was nearby and rented a space online. I paid $95.84 total.
When I arrived there, I realized the space was inconvenient since I would need to climb a ladder to put the boxes up top. I immediately went to the front desk and requested to switch lockers. The gentleman was nice and did it for me. I was charged again $116 and was told I got the “transfer fee” of $10.00 waived.
I didn’t realize at the time that I was paying double for simply switching lockers, and mind you, I hadn’t even loaded anything into the first one. I stayed with the second locker for a couple of weeks (less than a month) and asked if I could receive a credit for staying less than a month. He said no due to company policy, which I understand. However, when I asked for my refund from the first locker, he told me he needed to speak with his supervisor. He later called, saying that they couldn’t refund the first locker that I DID NOT EVEN USE.
This is completely unfair to consumers who have no ability to fight back against a charge that shouldn’t have continued since it was never used. I’ll never rent a locker here again. BEWARE

The manager is great! Super helpful, friendly and kind. The facility is in a perfect location off the freeway, and easily accessible. Would recommend anyone needing a new storage unit, to rent here!

Avoid this location if you care about your money or your safety. They just doubled my monthly base rent overnight from $86 to $172 with absolutely ZERO notice or warning. When I called the local manager to complain about paying a premium price for a facility that is filthy, full of bugs, overflowing with trash, and constantly dealing with drug users and heavy police presence, I was told that the unsafe conditions of the property "were not relevant" to my price increase.
It is completely unacceptable to double a loyal tenant's rent while letting the actual facility turn into a hazardous environment. Management refuses to take accountability and blames the customers instead. I will be taking this up with corporate and looking for a competitor that actually maintains their property.
