- SSShayla1 day ago3.0I had a really disappointing experience at Hobby Lobby today while checking out in Jack’s line. Jack was an incredibly kind older gentleman, but during checkout (a few customers before me) he cut his finger and was actively bleeding while still trying to help customers. Another employee, Emma, called someone to bring band-aids, but instead of stepping in to help or letting Jack properly take care of himself, she mostly wandered around, she eventually brought him a napkin, and then stood near the entrance while he continued checking people out one-handed with a bleeding finger. It was honestly uncomfortable and unprofessional to watch. I felt terrible for Jack. At one point, I even helped bag another customer’s items myself because his injured hand was still exposed and I could tell he didn’t want to touch the shirts with his bleeding finger. This is not a reflection on Jack at all — he was extremely sweet and clearly trying his best — but management and coworkers (Emma) should have handled the situation much better and made sure he could properly clean and bandage his injury before continuing to work with customers and merchandise.
