I have nothing but praise for the professionalism and warmth by the operator of this location Joe. I have rented a storage unit here in the past and now getting RV storage. This place is clean and convenient and secure. I feel very comfortable leaving my possessions here.

It was easy to get setup and moved in. The guy at the front desk "Thomas" practically begged me to post my survey. My 10x10 was shown to be $52 per month. I signed up. Paid 4 months in advance. Being a responsible customer, I checked my account to see when my next payment was due. Imagine my surprise when it jumped to $106 per month. I inquired with corporate via messenger, and here is what they told me:
VERBATIM: "Thank you. When reviewing the account, we have noticed there is an increase in the account of $52. To provide some background regarding our increase policy, we are a month-to-month facility, and our rates are based on the market value of the unit. As stated in our lease, our rates are subject to change at any time. Extra Space Storage does not lock in rates. We will be more than happy to provide a one-time credit of $52 to offset the increase in the rent due on 7/12, and we will leave a courtesy task for the local site to reach out directly to you to further discuss this matter, as you have not had a chance to speak with site regarding this matter."
I have not gotten the "Notice" of the increase, but I am told: (Again Verbatim from the Messenger communication) "The written notice is sent out 30 days prior to the increase happening on the account. When checking the account, we have noticed it has been created but has not been delivered yet. Will you like us to move forward with the one-time credit and the site task for the local site to reach out directly to you?"
They are trying to give me a "One Time Credit" to appease me over my concern of the over 100% increase.
So, now I am awaiting a call from my Extra Space Storage facility. I will follow up with what happens. Asking for over a 100% increase is absurd and to me, is a "bait and switch" scheme.
I will report back with what the local facility tells me. But, BEWARE and ask questions before you commit! Your contract will clearly state the agreed monthly rent, but buried in it is that they can raise the rent at any time.
