Cons:
The lady working in the fabric section on Saturday, September 26th (initials VN) was really rude to me and I'm not even sure why.
I walked up to the counter and said, in a polite tone, "Excuse me? Excuse me, Hi, do you know if you have any felt?"
She sort of scoffs and says "I DON'T know *what* that is." 😒 I said, "... okay, um.." and she was like "Can you dEsCrIbE it? What does it look like? 😒" I said, "Um, it's kind of hard to describe.." and I pull up my phone to look up an example. She then continues to badger me for a description and also saying she doesn't know what it is, but that all of the fabrics are labeled and that I can just go look at them myself. She also asked me where I bought it before, and I told her I had purchased a small sheet from the craft section, but needed a bigger piece. It was so strange, off-putting, and uncomfortable, that I ended up saying, "Um, it's fine, I'll just go look.."
There was another customer there that witnessed this whole interaction. As I walked away to look at the fabrics, the employee continued to rant to the other customer about my request (i dont remember exactly what was said, but it was very clearly her talking about the fabric I asked for in an aggravated tone). That customer then walked over to me and tried helping me find it! The customer, *not* the employee! Thankfully, I found it immediately, but also mentioned I was also looking for a faux leather fabric as well to the customer (while thanking her for her helpfulness- she was very sweet).
I wandered around a little bit to give the sweet customer more time to have her fabrics cut and to find the faux leather. I found it quickly and got in line behind the sweet customer.
And THEN... the sweet customer is finished, and the employee starts tidying her space, so, I don't immediately approach (to give her a moment between customers out of politeness!) I was waiting for her to address me (to let me know she's ready to assist me instead of just walking up and plopping my stuff down on her counter), and she turns and gives me this most irritable stare and sneers and sorta gestures like, "What do you want?" Sort of attitude. So, I brought her the fabric that I wanted, and I said "I don't have to buy a full yard, right?" (I've never purchased fabric "by the yard" before) She gave me this death stare and said, "Ma'am, yOu NeEd To GiVe Me *precise* measurements." I said, "Yeah, I'm clarifying that I can buy smaller than a yard." And she said, "YES"
So I gave her precise measurements and she was like "OK 😒😮💨" and cut it. When she's done, she goes, "Have a nice day. 😒" (in an exasperated tone), so I hit her with the fake scrunched up nose smile in retaliation. I was so tempted to be like, "Girl, what is your problem?" But decided it's always a waste of time to argue with people who are unnecessarily rude to strangers ♡ especially if said stranger was otherwise polite and cordial! Oh, and mind you, this woman was perfectly nice to all of the other customers she was helping right in front of me! She was nice to the sweet customer, and she was nice to every other customer that interrupted her (to ask for help) during *my* interactions with her! It was absolutely bizarre. Before I checked out, incidentally, I ran into the manager and let her know that her employee was being rude to me. She said she'd check it out but I didn't follow up.
I hope you enjoyed my recollection of my interaction with a rude employee at Hobby Lobby in Casa Grande, and if you're the manager... I hope you did something about it lol
Pros:
The store was very neat and tidy. It seemed way bigger than other Hobby Lobby's I've been to, but maybe it felt that way because the store was mirrored/reflected (meaning most Hobby Lobby's have the fabric section on the left, this store has it on the right, etc)
They have great prices! But be sure to check every price on whatever product you are trying to buy, because their prices fluctuate quite frequently and sometimes one pack of ribbon is labeled $2.99 and the same exact pack is $2.49 next to it.
