Very poor nonchalant customer service! From Muschelle, who identified as the only manager until I pressed the issue for a REAL manager to assist with my problem. Then comes another lady who is communicating on the phone with manager, she still claimed to not be able to assist. After waiting about 25 minutes, here comes Chris who identified as the actual manager and he still couldn’t assist. All of this for a simple return WITH a receipt. The cashier, Jessica, was so busy complaining about her job she neglected to ask me how I wanted my refund back or even give me the option to ask for a store credit instead of the original form of payment after I explained that the original form of payment was done with a prepaid gift card that I no longer have. Immediately after completing the transaction, I asked if it could be canceled so that I wouldn’t lose $140 since I didn’t have the card anymore and everyone became extremely unpleasant with bad attitudes as if I had asked them to commit a crime. Aside from the issue, even if they were unable to assist further, the level of customer service was horrible and very dismissive.

I called this Lowe’s (Homewood, Al) to ask about a certain refrigerator and was put on hold and after 10 minutes I decided to drive to the store, still on hold waiting for someone to talk to. When I got to the store, I was still on hold. It was pouring down rain. When I walked in two employees were standing at the desk, leaned over just talking. I passed by them. They did not speak. I passed by five more employees. They did not speak. I walked to the back of the store where the refrigerators were, still on hold, and finally found a gentleman walking by and asked if he could help me. I showed him my phone and told him that I was on hold and had been on hold for almost 30 minutes and he did not apologize or anything. But at least he did help me find the refrigerator that I was looking for, but that was not his department so he took me over to another lady who was sitting at the desk on her cell phone. He told her I was interested in looking at a refrigerator and she said is she gonna buy it or she just wanna look at it, while I was standing there in front of her. I told her I would like to look at it before I bought it. I was still on hold and showed her that I was on hold with the store, no apology, no explanation of anything. After she walked me over to the refrigerator, I asked her a couple of questions about it and she said she didn’t know. I said, oh I’m sorry, is this not your department she said yes, then she said do you wanna buy it or not? This is not my first experience with horrible customer service at Lowe’s. I’m assuming that it is required to be rude to be able to work there? They had the same refrigerator at Home Depot for cheaper so I will be buying it there today. Her name was Shaniqua or something like that.
Next day I went to Home Depot and bought a refrigerator from a wonderful salesman who asked me if I needed anything as soon as I walked in the door. We looked at several refrigerators before I finally decided on one, even though his department was the flooring department, he helped me and got me what I needed without sending me to other people just because that wasn’t his department. He pulled up all three refrigerators that I was interested on his computer, compared them for me and help me pick out the perfect one that I needed. Also, when I left, several people spoke to me and thanked me for coming in (they didn’t even know I bought anything). Such a delightful, different feeling and atmosphere than the night before when I had to travel to Lowe’s in pouring down rain, thunder and lightning and 8:30 at night because no one would answer the phone and when I got there they acted like I was bothering them. I highly suggest Home Depot for all your needs. And they delivered it the next day with awesome delivery customer service guys! That’s the way you get repeat business!
