PSA: If you’re considering doing business with Aaron’s in Decatur on the Beltline, I would strongly encourage you to think twice because of my experience with their customer service. I had been renting a dresser from them for almost a year and, until last month, I had never been late on a payment. The only reason I was late was because I was in the hospital. Since I was moving, I notified them about a week in advance that I needed them to pick up the dresser. The day before my move, I called to ask what time someone would be there. One of the employees told me it wouldn’t be that day and that the manager would call me to schedule a pickup time. I called back yesterday and was told the same thing. I asked what time they closed, and they said 8:00 p.m. I called again around 6:00 p.m. Alabama time, giving them plenty of time to return my call before closing. No one ever called. This morning, around 11:00 a.m. (10:00 a.m. Alabama time), Amanda answered the phone. Leslie was the other employee I had spoken with previously. I was already frustrated, so I asked to speak with the manager. She told me he was with another customer and would let him know I was waiting. About 10 minutes later, the manager got on the phone, but he had no idea who I was or why I was calling. I could hear the ladies in the background explaining the situation to him. I even asked him, “So you do or don’t know why I’m calling?” He admitted he didn’t. Then the conversation shifted to my refund. One employee had previously argued with me that the payment withdrawn yesterday was for July. I explained that it was actually for the following month. After arguing for 15–20 minutes, she finally admitted, “Okay, I see it,” and said the manager would call me by the end of the day. That call never happened. When I asked the manager when they planned to pick up the dresser, he said I was scheduled for Monday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. My question is: When was anyone planning to tell me? Out of three employees, not one thought to communicate that information. To make matters worse, he told me I was still responsible for the dresser until they picked it up on Monday. So now I have to leave instructions with my apartment manager to let them into my apartment because of Aaron’s lack of communication. I can’t remember the manager’s name, but he eventually hung up on me. What’s disappointing is that both Amanda and Leslie knew why I had to return the dresser. Throughout the time I rented from Aaron’s, I consistently paid early whenever possible. In fact, I still have two other rental companies that call to check in and ask if I need anything because they value their customers. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Aaron’s in Decatur on the Beltline. Respectfully, they need to do much better with communication and customer service.

I recently purchased a new TV from this location and once it had been delivered to the store I called to see if I could come pick it up. The manager said that it was not an option, and I had to accept the delivery and setup even though they had an option when I placed the order to come pick up other TV's that they already had at the store. Upon delivery the guys that came and set it up were very nice and thorough, being certain not to damage it, however before I knew what happened they had left with the box and Styrofoam inserts that I always use if I have to move for safe travel. I called the store the next morning to enquire about the box and the manager told me it might be in the dumpster and I can come dig through it if I wanted to do so. I live 20 minutes from the store and instead of offering to get it and hold onto it for me (since it was technically part of my purchase) he left it to me to dig through their trash. If you refuse to let customers pick up and unbox their own products, most of which will end up costing three times as much by the end of the lease, then the least you can do is clarify with the guest what they want to keep and what they want to dispose of.

I will never do business at Arron's after two employees call me after hours cursing me because I didn't want a certain person deliver at my home.
