Buying the fridge itself was not the issue — the problem was what happened after. I purchased a brand-new refrigerator and was told I had 48 hours to exchange it. One day after that window ended, the freezing element failed. Lowe’s sent a technician who confirmed the failure, but because I was just outside the exchange window, I was denied a simple exchange. The appliance was essentially defective from the start, yet Lowe’s policy made resolving this unnecessarily difficult. Based on this experience, I will not be purchasing appliances from Lowe’s again. This store’s inventory management is the worst that I’ve seen. I’ve gone in multiple times for something that their app said they had in store only to find that they didn’t. Today, it was recessed retrofit gimbal lights. The app said 25 in store. I found 1, and I asked an employee working in the lighting section to help find the others. I only needed 2, but he couldn’t find them. It looks like it’s time to get rid of the Lowe’s for Pros card and start shopping elsewhere.
