  It’s been about a month since I went in but Richard was really good. The wait was long because he didn’t have much help in the store but he attended to everyone with care. Keep up the good work Richard. I did purchase a pool vacuum and got she rebate on it in the mail.

  I’m a first-time pool owner and came into this store hoping to get some basic guidance on how to maintain my pool—what test kit to buy, what chemicals I actually need, etc. My pool hasn’t been maintained, so I was looking for straightforward, beginner-friendly advice. Instead, I had one of the worst retail experiences of my life. The salesperson at the front desk immediately told me that I would “never be able to figure it out” myself. That was pretty shocking to hear as a customer just asking for help. When I asked how pool service companies manage it, he responded by saying they all do a poor job and basically trashed pool professionals in general. Rather than answering simple questions, he pushed me to buy a bottle, bring back a water sample, and rely on their “fancy machine” that prints out a shopping list. He even claimed that pH test strips are useless because they “don’t test the water,” which is simply not true. For context, I’m a chemist by trade—I’m more than capable of understanding and managing pool chemistry. I just wanted some basic direction on getting started. Instead, every time I asked a simple question, he rolled his eyes and acted like I was wasting his time. I walked out feeling offended and completely unsupported. If this is how they treat beginners, I can’t imagine recommending this place to anyone. Truly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a retail store.
