Premium Poolsmith stays on top of my pool maintenance and upkeep without fail. Great at communication.
When I first had them come out the prior pool company had chemicals so out of balance it was toxic and equipment was shot. Premium Poolsmith redid it all, and were extremely communicative, fair, and great. They have done upkeep since and are always very responsive anytime I reach out to them for anything. They are great. Appreciate all they do so very much! They do extra service during tree dropping issues in spring and fall and are amazing!

Moved to the area a few months ago and selected Poolsmith because of their 5 star Google rating. After several months of servicing my pool, I too am happy to give them another 5 star review. My pool always looks great after it’s serviced by Ethan, and everyone in the office is so incredibly nice and helpful whenever I’ve called with questions. Highly recommend!

Exceptional experience! They came the same day I called, identified my pool problem (when others couldnt) and did the fix the next day. I refilled the pool that afternoon and next morning a tech arrived to get the chemicals right. I decided to transition from a chlorine pool to saltwater and they delivered the next business day. The day after their tech was here to make adjustments to the water.
Frequently Asked Questions About Premium Poolsmith
How often do I need to have my pool filter cleaned?
Filter cleaning frequency depends on the type. Sand filters typically need backwashing when pressure increases 8-10 PSI above normal, with annual deep cleaning. Cartridge filters generally require cleaning every 2-3 months and replacement every 2-3 years. DE filters should be backwashed at 8-10 PSI pressure increase and undergo thorough grid cleaning 1-2 times yearly. Professional pool cleaners ensure proper maintenance for crystal-clear water. Contact Premium Poolsmith to discuss your specific filtration system needs.
Why won't my pump prime?
Several factors can prevent pump priming: low water levels, air in the system, clogged impeller, suction-side leaks, closed valves, dirty skimmer baskets, failing pump lid O-ring, or a worn pump motor. Running your pool pump 8-12 hours daily helps maintain proper circulation. Our experienced technicians can quickly identify and resolve these issues, often during a single visit, to get your system functioning optimally.
How often should I have my pool cleaned?
Weekly maintenance is recommended for most residential pools. Regular professional cleaning ensures proper chemical balance, prevents algae growth, removes debris, and identifies potential equipment issues early. This frequency maintains water clarity and sanitation while extending the life of pool surfaces and equipment. More frequent service may be beneficial during periods of heavy use or extreme weather conditions.
Do I need to be home during the maintenance visit?
Your presence is not required during maintenance visits as long as we have access to your pool and equipment area. Our technicians can perform all necessary tasks without disruption to your schedule. Many clients provide secure gate codes for access. We send a confirmation upon service completion.
What services are included in your weekly maintenance package?
Our standard weekly maintenance encompasses water testing and chemical balancing, debris skimming, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, brushing pool walls and steps, vacuuming the pool floor, equipment functionality checks, and inspections for potential issues. Our technicians perform these tasks meticulously to maintain your pool's optimal condition. We provide a digital report after each service.
What makes your pool service different from others?
Our technicians are fully certified and receive ongoing education to stay current with the latest pool technology and maintenance techniques. We utilize digital testing equipment for precise chemical readings, provide detailed service reports with photos, and offer a satisfaction guarantee. If you're unsatisfied with our service, we'll address any issues at no additional cost.
How fast can you provide a repair estimate?
Our technicians can often provide repair estimates and complete repairs on the same day, depending on when you contact us.
How do you handle vacation coverage?
We offer flexible scheduling for vacation coverage. We can increase visit frequency or schedule additional chemical checks for extended absences. Please notify us at least one week before your departure so we can adjust our maintenance plan accordingly.
I just bought a new home and the pool is green from neglect. Can you drain and clean it?
We can fully restore your neglected pool. Our comprehensive process includes draining contaminated water, professionally cleaning surfaces to remove algae and stains, inspecting all equipment, performing necessary repairs, refilling with fresh water, and properly balancing chemicals. We'll transform your green pool into a pristine oasis. We also offer ongoing maintenance plans to prevent future issues.
Why do I need to drain my pool if the cyanuric acid is too high?
Excessive cyanuric acid (CYA) levels cannot be reduced through chemical treatment alone. When CYA exceeds 100 ppm, it can render chlorine ineffective against algae and bacteria, regardless of chlorine levels. This condition, known as 'chlorine lock,' compromises water sanitation and safety. Partial or complete draining is the only effective solution to dilute and reduce CYA to appropriate levels (30-50 ppm), restoring proper chlorine effectiveness.
