Spent 6 thousand dollars and they left the job half done and then they tell me that the ducts have nothing to do with the ac like I’m some kind of idiot. Never again.

We had buildup in the dryer vent that was starting to cause problems. The technician took care of it quickly and showed us how to maintain it going forward. Solid service with a smile.

The team arrived right on time and did a complete deep cleaning of our vents. They used advanced tools and were super tidy while working. My home smells fresher and even looks cleaner.

After weeks of clothes taking forever to dry, I called for a dryer vent inspection. The technician found and cleared a major blockage. He explained how dangerous it could’ve been if we waited any longer. Grateful for the quick response.

United Home Services has replied to my posting of my alarmingly shocking experience with two of their employees in December 2024. I want to assert that every word I wrote was the absolute truth. I did not fabricate, exaggerate or invent any of it. I can understand that UHS management is having trouble believing all this happened because it was so bizarre and strange. I am a senior citizen and veteran and have lived all over the country and the world and have never ever been the target of such unprofessional, threatening, and intimidating behavior from any contractor. I think UHS's response is to completely 'dis' my posting: disregard, disrespect, dismiss and disparage, but it is UHS that needs to have a good look at the behavior of its badly-trained employees. Again, these 2 low-lifes showed up not in a company van (as per UHS's website) but in a private pick-up truck, a grey Chevy Silverado (I also have the TX license number) with NO LADDER, no drop cloth, a small bag with one thin, scrawny brush that did not reach up into the chimney, NO FLASHLIGHT, no written report of work done, no receipt book, no MANNERS, absolutely no identification, no pocket badges, no neck lanyard ID cards, no monogrammed caps and shirts, nothing. I'm still very angry with myself that I let them in my house. I was foolishly trusting. "Tony" fabricated a false inspection when he said my chimney needed repair although he had no ladder to get on the roof. He just made it up! It was a con to get me to pay for unneeded repairs. When I protested at the overall poor, unprofessional service, Tony became extremely abusive and threatening. He yelled at me to pay him in cash, "you pay, you pay now, now you pay,' he shouted on my front steps. Even if I had given him cash he had no receipt book or electronic device to record the transaction and no way to calculate TX state sales tax. He lied when he said that United Home Services was 'his' company, he 'owns' the business. When he failed to bully me into paying for very bad service he threatened me that he was 'going to put a lien' against my house. Imagine, how very stupid can any con man be? UHS is attempting to disparage my experience by suggesting that I have made some sort of racial slur against Tony, but it was Mike, Tony's boss, who told me, volunteered to me, that "Tony's from Israel" as some sort of lame excuse that because Tony's 'new' he doesn't know how to behave as a professional. Anyway, Israel is not a race; it's a sovereign nation. Tony's origins were never an issue with me; his unprofessional, abuse behavior is. I was so alarmed by Tony's behavior I reported this incident right away to all the right people and institutions: TX Attorney-General, Consumer Protection, the BBB and the local police department. I still feel so strongly about this abusive incident that I am prepared to stand up and testify in a court of law, should it ever come to that. UHS's 'quality customer interaction' is a load of pure hogwash, to put it politely. I've already had a 'direct conversation' with the company on the day of the incident and the manager, Mike. They are not 'here to help' but to white-wash extremely bad service. Consider the risk I have taken to publicly report this: your threatening, intimidating, bully employees know where I live. I'm a possible target for further abuse or revenge. That's why I'm glad to have reported this incident to the local police. Also, consider how very frightened and scared I was when Tony raised his voice in a hot temper: loud, aggressive, rude, vulgar, disrespectful, enraged that I was not handing over $99. in cash. Like it or not, I regard my public posting a civic responsibility to warn and protect others who might fall under the 'special' chimney deal of United Home Services. I absolutely stand by my first posting, every word of it. I am gratified to think my speaking-out benefits others. Good for Google for making this service available. Thank you Google!

Frequently Asked Questions About United Home Services

Why is air duct cleaning important for my San Antonio home?

Dust, allergens, and pet dander accumulate quickly in Texas homes. Professional air duct cleaning improves your indoor air quality and helps your HVAC system run more efficiently, saving on energy bills. We recommend a deep clean every 3-5 years to ensure a healthy living environment for your family.

How often should I schedule a chimney sweep or inspection?

For safety, the NFPA recommends a chimney inspection once a year. Our certified chimney sweeps focus on removing creosote buildup to prevent fire hazards. Whether you use your fireplace often or not, an annual inspection ensures your home is safe from carbon monoxide and structural issues.
