Wow, I see a lot of the similar complaints. You would think that they might do something about it. I won't go back to this Leslie's unless I am absolutely desperate.
I went in and stood at the front desk of Leslie's (long time customer of Warehouse Pool). Anyway, all of the records were in the system, but because they have 2 systems, I had to stand and re-give info anyway. Alright, while I am giving info, the guy working with me, answers the first phone call, while I stand in front of him patiently waiting. Then he gets off and we begin again. The 2nd phone call comes, and this time he is on the phone, with me standing in front of him, for at least 10 minutes, while he pretends to multi-task and run the water sample I had brought in. Finally, he gets off of the phone, and we continue.
Since my first priority was to purchase a spring for my filter, so we got that, and he tells me I need acid for my pool (according to the sample). I asked if they could help install the spring on the dial we had brought in, and he reluctantly said yes.
We went to the rear of the store, where he put the dial and the spring into a machine used for this purpose. The problem was, however, that he could not find the cheater bar to use to help him get enough leverage on the handle to install....this while 2-3 other guys were in the store, kinda watching what was being done; seemed to me that they were aimlessly trying to burn up time. Finally, after about 30 minutes of looking and trying to figure something out, he gave up, and tells me MAYBE one of the other Leslie's can help me. Never offers to help find one.
We make our purchase and exit the store (remember he told me I needed acid, of which I purchased a sealed box, along with the very expensive spring).
Next, I call another Leslie's in Round Rock (620/IH-35), and we go there with our part and receipt in hand. An older gentleman helped us. He took the part back to the back, we followed. He handed my 16 year old son a hammer and he positioned the spring into place, and the black handle at the top of the dial. He told my son to hold the pin, and when he pushed the dial down far enough, to tap the pin in with the hammer to keep the handle in place. This process took less than 5 minutes, and we were done. Obviously his experience and customer service far outweighed 3 or 4 of the people present (notice I did not say working), at the other store.
We got home and installed our dial back onto our DE Filter. We then did a re-check of our PH and Chlorine levels of the pool, and found that acid was not needed, but rather we needed to go the opposite of what we had been told. The next day, with the sealed box of chemicals in hand, I try to return it to the same Leslie's (the one that faces Home Depot on IH-35/Louis Henna, east side of 35). They tell me it against store policy to return chemicals to the store. I said "but it is factory sealed, never opened, because you said I needed this". Sorry ma'am, we cannot accept them.
If I EVER need a part, or chemicals, I will go to the one on 620/IH-35, EVEN if it means waiting for the part to come in. The man there was quick, and got done what 3-4 strapping guys at the other Leslie's could not. I suggest THIS Leslie's (on Louis Henna/IH-35) fire the people working there, clean house, and that the owner work for a while to rebuild his customer base, because I bet I am not alone.
