Over the years I’ve spent considerable funds in the garden center. There was a nice Lowe’s lady who knew everything and always helped. And the funny man who checked me out who wouldn’t let me do anything, was always happy and asked if I needed paper. And Levi, who always offered to help take things to my car. Yesterday - a busy Saturday - I was stunned to see everything changed. Self check out only. The long line with only one real human: a young man doing his best. I had three huge bags of mulch I needed help with getting into my car. He called for help four times - no one came. I drove my car around and he left his post to help load my things.
Lowes, this is a bad decision….probably made by some corporate guy who’s never enjoyed picking out flowers for his yard, asking folks for advice or shrub suggestions.
I’ll now take my all business to Katy Gardens or Cornelius. It may cost more, but a small price to pay when you have actual people that talk to and help you.

Very disappointing experience.
While browsing tools in an aisle, someone who appeared to be an LP “secret shopper” came over and closely observed what we were doing. We were simply looking at products, yet the attention felt unnecessary and uncomfortable.
Later, at self-checkout with a single item, an associate stood directly nearby and watched while it was scanned. The level of monitoring felt excessive.
I also passed several associates in the store, and the only person who offered assistance was the Black associate. That contrast stood out.
Overall, the experience felt targeted and unwelcoming. Management should ensure that all customers are treated equally and that staff are properly trained on unbiased customer engagement.

Purchased a pressure washer machine from them, it worked for half a driveway and shut off. They wouldn’t refund because they have a 48-hr return window and because it can’t have gas in it. Crazy how they will sell you a product that doesn’t work and won’t replace it. Customer service was worthless as well. They wonder why everyone’s doing online shopping now and avoiding retailers. Never will shop at Lowe’s ever again.
