- GRG RSep 20, 20251.0Dishwasher wasn't cleaning well, so I called Alan's. The tech came out and quickly decided I needed to replace the drain hose. I was skeptical since the dishwasher was draining fine. The tech showed me the existing hose and told me that it was obviously clogged and needed replacing because it had become opaque when it was originally translucent. This was clearly an opaque gray hose from the start. Nevertheless, I let him do the replacement because he was totally confident this would fix my issue. It didn't help at all. Now that I'm replacing my dishwasher myself, I've also come to realize that $325 to replace a dishwasher drain hose is ridiculous - it's a $20 hose at best and a 20 minute job. On top of the ridiculous price, the drain hose was installed without a high loop.
