I wish I'd known about Extra Space Storage prior to renting storage elsewhere (not far down the road). I'm probably going to move my larger storage contents to this place as well because it's SO much better than nearby facilities.
- KLKevin LeinbergerJan 26, 20261.0This place is a lawsuit waiting to happen. They use bait-and-switch tactics to raise prices on customers without warning. For me, they advertised a unit as $115, rented it out at $150, then 6 months later tried to raise the rates to $230 without warning. I know someone who's rate went from $253 to $335 to $417 to $489 over the span of one year. I know someone else who started at $125 and is now paying $375. Another person started at $49, experienced 3 increases over 9 months, and is now paying $164. These bait-and-switch tactics are ILLEGAL. Someone ought to file a Consumer Complaint through the Texas Office of the Attorney General, and file a report to the Better Business Bureau. Extra Space Storage is supposed to give customers 30-days notice of planned rate increases, but they consistently fail to, and since EVERYBODY I KNOW at Extra Space is seeing these massive rate increases, it tells me they are using these predatory business practices intentionally. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. If you go with a franchise, do your research to make sure they don't do what Extra Space Storage does, which is rip people off as standard practice.
