Before I get into it, I want to acknowledge Stacy (store manager) and Terri (Appliances) as they did a great job helping me once the stuff hit the fan.
If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Lowe’s (specifically the Decatur, TX location and their corporate "support") has been nothing short of deceptive.
I am not writing this because of a shipping delay. I am writing this because Lowe’s repeatedly lied to me, held my money for a product they didn't have, and forced me to do their job for them.
The Timeline of Failure:
Nov 15: After two unexplained online cancellations, I placed an in-store order for a freezer. I was given a firm pickup date of Dec 2.
The Gaslighting: For weeks, the status sat at "Preparing Order." I called multiple times (local and corporate) and was explicitly guaranteed—repeatedly—that my Dec 2 pickup was confirmed.
Dec 1: I called the Decatur store to confirm. I was bounced between Pro Desk, CS, and Appliances, and eventually hung up on.
Dec 2 (Pickup Day): Silence. No email. No call. I called them at 3 PM. Appliances admitted it wasn't there but promised an update by 5 PM.
5:07 PM: Again, silence. I had to call back, only to be told the freezer is on backorder until December 30th.
The Reality:
Lowe’s took my money on November 15 for a product they did not have. Instead of being honest, their inventory system and their support staff strung me on for weeks with false promises.
With the billions of dollars Lowe's has in enterprise technology, it is inexcusable that you cannot track your own inventory. You knowingly sold me a ghost item, treated me like a nuisance when I asked for updates, and wasted my entire day waiting for a pickup that was never going to happen.
This isn't just "bad service." This is an interest-free loan that I unknowingly gave to a corporation that doesn't respect its customers. To the Decatur management: Thank you for the callback eventually, but "it's on backorder" is information I should have had on Nov 15, not forced out of you on Dec 2.
Consumers Beware: Do not trust their "In Stock" status. Do not trust their pickup dates. And certainly, do not trust that anyone at this company will communicate with you once they have your money.
My new freezer from Best Buy is great and was less expensive!

Jayden at the checkout laughed when I asked if they usually call for loading assistance. I had to ask two other lazy employees if they could help me load four 2 x 8 x 16 footboards from the rack and they appeared obviously put out by my request. The same to watch me load my entire load onto a flatbed and never offered any help and I even looked at one and said oh, you must be real busy to which he pretended not to see me . This is exactly why I hate Lowe’s and will be sure not to be back. No customer service what a joke this place is.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
