My experience with Lowe's customer service was among the worst I've encountered with any major retailer, making it clear how disappointing their service was from the start.
I hired Lowe's to replace damaged flooring after a washing machine overflowed. I paid in full upfront, assuming (like any reasonable customer would) that the company handling the job would remove the damaged flooring, prep the surface, and install new tile.
After waiting over 10 days, the installer finally showed up — only to tell me for the first time that he couldn't prep the floor for tile. This lack of clear communication made me feel uncertain about their professionalism, leaving me with an unusable space and no clear next steps. No one from Lowe's or the contractor followed up. I had to chase them down with multiple calls and texts over several days, and every person gave me a different story: I needed a plumber. No, I required Hardie board. No, I needed to hire my own contractor. None of this was communicated before they took my $1,611.80.
Lowe's completely failed to manage or coordinate this project, leaving me stuck with a half-finished job and surprise out-of-pocket costs. The total lack of transparency, accountability, and communication was deeply frustrating and disappointing, making me feel ignored and undervalued as a customer.
Avoid Lowe's installation services at all costs. If they can't deliver on basic project management and follow through, it raises serious questions about their reliability and whether they are fit to handle home improvement projects.

An extremely disappointed homeowner

Very helpful and they cut glass! The staff was super knowledgeable, not used to that at a hardware store!

Lowes delivery department absolutely sucks. They don't follow through on what they say, no one can give you accurate information. The so called four hour delivery window isn't given even though it's automatically texted to you(with no time)? but no one calls to confirm. Everyone from flooring to receiving and delivery won't take responsibility for any thing. They expect people to just accept terrible service. Lost a customer.

Never do what they say they will. We bought $1600 worth of paint from them SIX MONTHS AGO and the only reason is we were promised $800 back in rebates!!! Six months later no rebate and we’ve were promised $267 six weeks ago, no idea where that number came from, and guess what else??? Still no rebate!!! Horribly run business…after 20 years doing business with them and having a Lowe’s card we use every month….Home Depot we on the way!!!!!!!!!!

The manager of the window department at Lowe’s called me to schedule a time to measure windows I needed replaced. I got a confirmation email the night before the appointment and went to the property to wait for them 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment. I waited for over an hour and then got an email saying my appointment was canceled with a phone number to call. I called that number and they didn’t know the reason for the cancellation and transferred me three times, always transferring me back to someone else in the call center who requested the exact same information. I called the store directly and could not reach anyone. It is amazing to me that they would reach out to schedule an appointment, confirm it, randomly cancel it with no explanation after I’ve waited for an hour and then refuse to put me in touch with anyone that can resolve the issue. Unbelievable!

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
