- KMKent McIlyarDec 22, 20251.0Extra Space Storage is just another heartless and greedy global storage unit owner who will treat its renters like dog poop as soon as you get your stuff moved in. They surreptitiously raise the rent ono your units every 2-3 months so that "once good deal" becomes much worse than your cable and internet monthly bill. They use late fees that are 10% which is extremely heavy-handed for just 1-3 days late one month. I would find a locally owned storage unit and steer clear of Globo-Corp Nightmare . . . Extra Space Storage.
