- JKJustin KovarMar 7, 20265.0This is a quality place for storage. The spaces are built and sized consistently and management is great. I have had exceptional customer service experiences with Derrell, and noticed a big improvement in the site after he took over as manager (and it was pretty good before). I also had Gavin come through for me in a clutch during the winter storm. The app is pretty good, too, with wireless access to the front gate and doors. The Exit Gate can be hard to get in range, but that's a small thing, and you can just type in your code at the keypad. My only big complaint is that the rate increases are too aggressive. It makes me feel like I can't trust keeping my stuff here for the long term. Doubling the rent right after the 4 months is too much too fast. It's also not in the company's best interest. It's like trying to yank a fish in after a nibble instead of letting them get hooked first. When I get a notice that my rent is going up that much, it makes me think about how I can get my stuff out as opposed to piling more stuff in and getting attached to the unit. This doesn't make sense for a place that's not completely full. I have personally went from 4 units to 2 because of the aggressive rate increases. Overall, though, I like the space, and would take Extra Space over Public Storage any day of the week.

My wife and I were trying to move from a small to a larger storage unit, and we were given information on how to do this by someone different the day before. Derell called me immediately after he saw my request go in and was able to make this process much easier than we expected, and saved us from spending over $100. Thank you for the A1 customer service!!!
