I had 4 employees offer to assist me in different sections. The first lady called the gentleman up that does the paint. He was incredibly helpful and patient with my lack of paint knowledge (this carpenter hates to paint!). He listened to what I need to accomplish, went and selected/mixed my paint and picked out the appropriate roller. The next lady saw me in lumber and offered to help. I've got that part covered but appreciated the sentiment. Next, while perusing through tools, another kind lady offered to help. I needed 5/8" 18ga pin nails but didn't know where they hung out. She took me straight there.
They all had genuine smiles and made me "feel" like a valued customer. That's extremely rare these days. That kind of care simply doesn't occur with orange aprons. Thanks Brenham Lowes!

I tried to return a generator 9 days after I bought it. when i purchased it i was sure to verify and confirm (with 2 different employees) any and all return policy instructions prior to purchase - some of which were only being able to return an UNOPENED generator with a receipt/proof of purchase. Upon dealing with pleasant Sophia at the return counter, she needed a supervisor to authorize the transaction. The supervisor (Cheyenne) was not certain on the return policy, which i do not blame her, it was a 4-figure transaction.
she speaks with a manager over the phone and he first states the return cannot be authorized because i did not use a Lowe's credit card. in nowhere on the receipt or the separate return instructions stapled to my receipt does it mention anything of the sort. so i ask to speak with the same manager and shortly after comes in a mister John Collins. he initially reiterates i cannot return the generator because i did not use a Lowes CC, but i show him nowhere does it state anything of the sort. so THEN he pivots to a large 4x6' return policy board and says that all generators only have a 48-hour return policy window. i am getting agitated ay this point, because again, nowhere does it state anything of the sort and i explained that i had 2 different people explain the return policy IN DETAIL knowing full-stop i would return it if i did not use it.
he says " i am going to stand by company policy and not approve your return, but you can call corporate if you would like". Cheyenne then gives me the corporate number and while i am on hold so they can lookup by transaction record by phone number, lowe (pun intended) and behold, the FIRST bullet point explains that generators returned WITH a receipt within 30-days, in the original packaging, unopened are excluded from the small power equipment 48-hour window return policy.
now i am hot, admittedly, and i ask the manager to read the first bullet point of the big board and he does not move at all to come review it. i try to explain it and read it aloud to him ( he is 25-30 feet away) and tell him he does not know his own policy and ask if he can read. not my best moment, but he then proceeds to tell me he IS not going to honor my return EVEN though the policy says it is acceptable in un-used, unopened condition! so i said, oh your feelings are in your own way and you cannot do your job, is that it? he says if i keep it it up he will call the cops or i can go ahead and leave the store because he is not going to approve my ACCEPTABLE return. it turned personal and that is beyond unprofessional.
i hope the owner or senior manager or corporate review board reads this. Mr. Collins is not a good reflection of your business and as he states he has been doing this "18-years", well, it does not show.
in the midst of my call with corporate he spoke up and said that he was wrong and he is "man enough" to admit it and he would honor the return, as corporate was going to do the same. so i get off the phone with corporate, and he says it is a new policy (unsure if that is even true) and he needed to confirm the details prior to approving my return. i asked wouldn't it have been easier to start there rather than waste all of our time and have me call corporate? he THEN says calling corporate does not do any good because they do not handle in-store disputes!!!! so WHY mister manager would you suggest i call them? makes NO sense.
first i did not have a lowes card (48-hour rule did not apply then, ironically)
then it was not within 48-hours
then he simply was not going to approve it despite being wrong in his own assessment of the return policy
then i call corporate and he caves....
so my conclusion is he either did not want to do his job or does not know how to perform with a customer-service orientated headspace. either of which is bad for business.
ATTN Lowes shoppers - beware...
transaction happened today, between 11:45Am and 12:27Pm if anyone wants to check tape, or you can talk to Sophia, she seems honorable enough to speak truth.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
