  READ THIS. BE SMART. Do you own work? I do, but it is not “work” for me. It is time outside breathing healthy air and getting some sunshine. The problem is the bagged materials at the hardware stores. It takes a lot of time and effort to drag that stuff home and cut open all those bags. But I have had two bulk material deliveries in the past four years. The last one came in a truck so massive I like to have died. It’s embarrassing. It’s also not fair. I see all the pros getting stuff delivered in exactly the right quantities using trailers that cost a fortune and are too big for my SUV to rent. The cost saving alone is unbelievable, but there is also a question of quality. I use decomposed granite everywhere. I think of it as long-term fertilizer. The quarter-inch minus decomposed granite delivered by SiteOne is MASSIVELY more decomposed than the cheaper stuff the hardware stores are selling. MEMBERSHIP IN A PRIVATE CLUB It felt like all the crews that do this for a living were part of a private club that had access to bulk materials that I could not replicate. I wanted in this club so bad I just drove out to SiteOne, not knowing what my plan was. That was when I met Mauricio. He owns one of those lawncare and landscaping businesses. I immediately saw the respect everyone at SiteOne had for this young man and instinctively knew I could trust him. He agreed to deliver four cubic yards of decomposed granite to my house because he does this for other SiteOne customers. He even said he would charge me $5 less than what I already thought was an amazingly affordable delivery charge from SiteOne. They are way our Interstate 10 but regard my neighborhood inside 1604 to be a “local” delivery. NO MORE BAGS Mauricio is a wizard behind the wheel, and he doesn’t need any help backing up. I somehow knew this ahead of time and didn’t offer. What I did instead was watch as he backed into my driveway to put that pile exactly where I needed it. I just smiled. Then I quipped about not seeing any shovels. He got out this thing that looks like something you would use to adjust your bed height and dumped the load flawlessly with the push of a button. He has two of these hydraulic lift trailers. He said the other one is smaller. Basically, if SiteOne has it (and they have EVERYTHING with ten times more selection), Mauricio can deliver it in the quantity you want and put it anywhere you need it. MEMBERSHIP IN THIS PRIVATE CLUB IS NOW FOR EVERYONE I spoke to Mauricio before writing this review. I told him how hard it has been for me buying bags and the two delivery nightmares I had with trucks too big to bring into my neighborhood. I told him I thought there was probably a lot of guy like me who could use his help. I told him all these things because I didn't want a favor to turn into a problem for him while he ran his own business. Then I told him this economy is about to crash worse than anyone thanks, and that perhaps delivering these loads to others would be a steady source of income in hard times. He agreed and said it was okay to write this review. Mauricio is all business. He does his job efficiently for a good price. You will not have any problems with him coming to your house. I promise. I'm just grateful to God he was there when I needed him. SITEONE IS A "NO-BRAINER" There is a retail business for plants and gardening supplies I will not mention by name in this review. I consider that business to be a "no-brainer" when it comes to buying plants in San Antonio, Texas. SiteOne is their compliment when you need dirt and other materials in bulk. Both are "no-brainers" for anyone living around here. Save money. Dramatically increase your selection. And stay home to wait for Mauricio to deliver everything to your house instead of paying more to drag all those heavy and EXPENSIVE bags home from the hardware store.

  Place has alot to offer and plenty of materials, although the employees that are currently working have little to no experience or knowledge of what they have in stock
