They did not have the proper hardware to install a chimney chase, and tried to use zinc plated hardware instead of stainless on a stainless chase. They also only attached the chase on 2 of the 4 sides, and did not caulk the screws after.
- NVN ValentinMay 14, 20193.0The technician did a great job cleaning my dryer vent, but the price changed from what I was quoted over the phone, and I don't think it was a fair price for the work done. I was quoted a $99 special. But when the technician looked at my vent from the laundry room and saw all the dust buildup, he said he could get some of the buildup out from there, but if he has to go into my attic to get the rest it would be more of a labor charge and would be $179. Then he went up on the roof and was able to get clean the vent in a few minutes. He then charged me $179 +tax. I said, "But you didn't have to go into the attic." He said, "oh, I meant the roof." In my humble opinion, I believe that going on the roof and cleaning the vent from there is probably a regular practice; it didn't take long; it was not labor intensive; it shouldn't have cost extra. $99 would have been a good price. $179 +tax was too much.
