- CRChickee ReviewsOct 19, 20254.0We were one of the victims of the multi unit burglary at another Extra Space Storage Facility in Austin (2401 East Ben White Boulevard) in April 2024 when Alijah was still the manager. Paul was one of the staff called in from a different facility to help out with our situation. He has been our best ally since then. So we were so happy when he got transferred over to this location (7110 E Ben White) as we know we have someone reliable and actually cares about us. Because of our previous bad experience, we're more vigilant now and would report to him if we notice anything sketchy. He's never dismissive and prompt to address our concerns. Abigail, the previous manager of this location, was really nice & helpful too. She helped show us around, measure the units, and cleaned the unit to make it ready for us on short notice. The facility itself has a lot more cameras than the other one. We wish though that the entry codes were floor-specific and that they have a gate to the car park at the back for better security. Multiple times I've seen sketchy people parked there even in daylight. One evening, I saw a guy tried to open my trunk while his buddy was on his white pickup truck as a lookout. Good thing I was already on my way out and I startled them. Our experience with Extra Space as a company has been disappointing, mainly due to their policies in terms of burglaries. Our suspect, who was also a tenant, was still allowed to return unsupervised multiple times to her units & empty them out for a full month since the burglary incident. That being said, we have been very pleased by both Paul and Abigail's dilligience, kindness, and help. I hope hard-working people like them gets treated better by big corporations like this one and that Extra Space, and every other storage facilities for that matter, create better policies to protect their responsible tenants.
