  I just moved into this location for storage space as I transition into being a digital nomad and I am quite happy with the customer service i received from Thomas the manager of this location. He was very polite and respectful. Love the old school bedside manners! I arrived there as soon as they opened (9:30 am) on a Thursday and was properly greeted. I was interested in the 10x7 unit I had seen on the website and had spoken to Chrysa at another location and Thomas happily showed me the unit. The size and unit on the 2nd floor was perfect as it was close the elevator. I felt he really served me the best possible option he had available for the price I wanted. I am glad I took the time to check this location before finalizing my decision. Check in was a breeze. I was able to start moving my items the same day. I also appreciate that as a customer I can access the property and my unit at 6 am - 10 pm. The property is about 8 years old but still looks new. It was very clean and in good order. I didn't see any trash in and outside the buildings. It is well kept. Great job Thomas and team! Thank you for such a great customer service. Thomas is a huge asset to your company as confirmed by this locations reviews.

  I dealt entirely with Tomas Quintero during my rental setup and move-in process, and he was the best. Kind, helpful, above & beyond. He made the whole experience a painless one, which was extra wonderful, as I was in the middle of a cross-country road trip and didn’t have much time or energy to spare. Thank you again, Tomas!! **I must add that I did (and still do) take issue with the lack of transparency in ESS’s fee structure; their mandatory “unit insurance” could very easily be lumped in to the opening quote, but it’s not, it’s a surprise during the enrollment process. I assume corporate decided to do it this way because then, at first glance, the monthly rate looks tantalizingly affordable… and by the time you’re told about the insurance, halfway through contract review, you’re more likely to just make peace with it. So, be advised in advance: There’s a one-time setup fee (it was $29 for me), there’s the rental itself (this ranges, so I can’t quote it — but look for online specials, and keep your special rate by pre-paying for as long as your location will allow!), there’s mandatory insurance (it was $11 monthly for the unit I chose), and there are steady price hikes over time. Some locations also require you to use a certain type of lock, which they then sell at a premium. Probably because corporate set the price that way? ***But I don’t fault the local employees for any of the above — and, to anyone who does decide to rent with ESS (particularly this one in Austin), it’s highly likely you’ll have a very positive interpersonal experience, like I and others have described.
