I found it so difficult to make the storage payment online and/or by phone. I spoke with Lisanie who was able to set up an account for me, and I was then able to make the payment immediately. He was very patient and calm as he helped me with the process. Excellent customer service! Thank you.

I'd rather communicate privately, but I've not found any other way provided by the owners.
Until last month, every interaction I've ever had with SpareBox employees in the last 7 months has been more than satisfying! Fees to pay an agent were waived whenever the phone system was down until September 25 when I tried to pay my bill late in the evening to avoid fees that come with every other payment option 🙃. Agents weren't available until the next day, September 26th.
So, I spoke with Cheyenne at 5:05 pm CST on September 26th. She did not exhibit any understanding or reasoning. Her solutions did not fit with either my past experiences with SpareBox or today's experience with Jamile. She was going to charge me the $12 fee for paying through her even though it wasn't my fault that the phone system was down. I refused. She told me to pay the additional $2 credit card payment fee (as there's not a debit card option online), or to go to the kiosk on sight that I've never seen, which is not safe with so many homeless, some with mental health issues around the area. She told me there would be a $5 late fee the next day. She was dishonest when she told me she'd check with her supervisor, putting me on hold, returning to the line saying that the options she'd given me were indeed policy according to her supervisor, but then a few seconds later, she told me she hadn't spoken to her supervisor at all!🤦♀️ I asked to speak to a supervisor, but she stonewalled me. I told her that I'd just hang up & call back, that I would not drop it. I wouldn't give Cheyenne any stars.
I spoke with Akela at 5:24 pm CST when I called back & asked to speak with a supervisor after telling her what Cheyenne had done. She said she'd sent a request for a callback from the supervisor & I could expect a call from Belize by 6 PM EST. I told her that I do NOT answer unknown phone numbers. I never got the call. I would give Akela 3 stars because I believe that she's the reason I even received a text dated, Monday, September 29 at 11:23 am CST saying
"Hi Della – I understand you were hoping we could remove the late fee, but unfortunately our policies don’t allow us to waive it. Thank you for reaching out and checking in with us. SpareBox Storage
There has been no effort to contact me to gather any information regarding this matter, which indicates money is desired for little service, little concern about the customers' experience with customer service representatives, and/or your reputation. I was very disheartened by that experience. It makes me want to take my business where I'm not forced to pay for paying my bill or am treated with such dishonest disrespect by non-American employees with no allegiance to our country or its American owners & owners who choose to stonewall paying customers by not providing adequate methods to communicate with people who pay for their lifestyle. We are paying for service that includes communication!
Is your business truly doing so badly that there's a need to charge customers a measly $2 to pay their bill? Quite frankly, the practice makes SpareBox look weak, shaking my confidence in their current financial stability. Many businesses are passing their business expenses onto their customers who haven’t seen an increase in their incomes. Is this who SpareBox wants to be?
Thank you for your prompt attention to this highly frustrating & unethical incident. It's about the principal & the money.

Why do I need to have insurance coverage for my unit?
Many tenants ask why we require tenant insurance or a protection plan. In our decades of self-storage experience, we have witnessed too many instances of tenants losing their valuables without recourse. Events like fires, natural disasters, and burglary, while rare, can leave a tenant with nothing when there is no insurance or protection plan in place.
Where do I send my proof of homeowners or renters insurance?

If you need assistance with a lock cut or a maintenance request, please call (833) 777-7273 and we will gladly make an appointment with a property manager.
What is the vacate policy?
SpareBox makes moving out simple! No written requirements or 30-day notice demands—just make sure your unit is empty, clean, and ready for the next customer. To inform us of your move-out, simply move-out online, call and let us know, or email us as customer@spareboxstorage.com.
How do I move out?
Once you are ready to move out, you can process the move-out through your online account, kiosk, or by phone. All SpareBox leases are month-to-month.
Note: If you move out at the beginning or middle of your billing cycle, you will not be refunded prorated rent. For that reason, we encourage move-outs to take place at the end of your billing cycle.
After scheduling your move out, be sure you remove all of your belongings and make sure your unit is clean and ready for the next customer.
It may take a few days for our property manager to verify your move-out, so disregard any automated notices you may receive shortly after you vacate.
What do I need to store my vehicle?
If you are storing a vehicle, motorcycle, boat, RV or trailer, you will need to provide us with proof of insurance and proof of ownership.
To send proof of insurance and ownership, please send a copy of your insurance declaration page, driver’s license, and registration to customer@spareboxstorage.com.
Is my rate guaranteed for the lifetime of my rental with SpareBox?

Periodically, we find it necessary to make adjustments to rates based on several factors including property improvements and to keep up with the rising cost of doing business. We send notifications 30 days before any rates change. You would have received this notice in the mail or by email.

Climate-controlled units are great for curbing extreme temperatures in the hot summer months and the cold winter months. These units have a typical range between 55º and 85º F. While not air conditioned the way your living room might be, these units will ensure your stored belongings won't be exposed to freezing or extreme heat.
