I had a very concerning experience at World Market that I feel other parents need to be aware of. While shopping, my young son found a box cutter/box knife left on a store shelf, within easy reach. He picked it up and asked if it was real, then went to touch the blade. This could have ended very badly. I immediately told him to put it back where he found it and reported the situation to the cashier. The cashier informed the manager, but the manager made light of the situation, suggesting it likely happened during restocking. There was no sense of urgency, concern, or accountability shown for what is a serious safety hazard—especially in a store frequented by families. I even took a video for proof because of how alarming it was. Accidents happen, but the response afterward matters, and in this case it felt like it didn’t matter at all. Leaving a sharp box cutter accessible to children is unacceptable, and dismissing it instead of taking it seriously is even worse. I hope World Market addresses safety procedures and staff training so this does not happen again. Parents should not have to worry about dangerous tools being left on shelves where children can reach them.

I was in that place today to get my annual German Christmas items like Stollen and Pfeffernüsse etc. but I wanted to return everything when I was yelled at by this rude cashier in there. She yelled telling us that the line started over by the left side out there but there was no line. There was no one even in front of us. In facet there was a second cashier with no costumer just standing there. I asked to speak to the manager who was unsympathetic and just as rude as the cashier. I love that place but these people need to get fired and replaced with someone nicer. I mentioned it to the cashier at the Hallmark store next door there and she knew exactly what I meant. There was no line and they yell in your face. Unbelievable. Get some Christmas spirit please!!!!

Poorly organized for checking out. They need more than 1 person cashing people out. A second cashier was adding to the chaos by asking customers to stay to the left in what WASN'T A LINE!. She should have been cashing folks out. Instead she tried to instruct us to STOP folks from getting out of the line that WASN'T A LINE! Common sense is rare these days.
