Installers of my new Maytag washer failed to screw the dryer hose to the connection in the wall so that the hose is falling off of the connection 😞. November 18th, 2025

The communication, customer service, and follow-up on behalf of manager, Robert Jackson, as it relates to carpet installation is the quintessential definition of what not to do in business. We purchased carpet in July of this year with an installation date of August 15th. We're through the first full week of November, and are still waiting for carpet to be installed in our home. We have paid over $4,000 to be waiting for nearly three months, with loose carpet pad, several rolls of carpet, and exposed tack strips throughout the entirety of one level of our home. Throughout this period, Robert has attempted to speak with me once, calling and leaving me a voicemail just before he left for the day. Multiple calls and physical visits have been made to the store by myself without him calling back to discuss our family's concerns. The internal notes taken by IST (1-800 number/point of contact for carpet install projects) on this project alone are approaching 15 pages in length at least, and nearly every contact has been initiated by myself as Lowe's/IST can't seem to be bothered to follow their call-back reminders and contact me when they say they will. I have specifically asked for a refund on multiple occasions during several of these calls. We want a refund, and we want it processed immediately. Lowe's has failed to follow-through on our business agreement in a timely manner. We want to be done with this extremely disappointing experience and to never do business with this Lowe's again. If you are considering replacing your flooring, our family would strongly advise you to pursue all other options prior to defaulting to this box store. We thought they would be able to provide a good product, a timely turnaround, and superior customer service given the volume they handle and policies they undoubtedly have tested over time. Unfortunately for us, we were wrong on all fronts and have paid the price, literally and figuratively. We hope we can save some of you the hassle, lost time, and stress that we've experienced.

I have a couple of woodworking projects I'm in the midst of, and needed something for each. For one, I needed an orbital sander. I researched the options, picked one that had the features I needed at the price I needed, and opted to buy at my local store, instead of Amazon. I checked online, and though it was a bit more expensive, it was confirmed to be in stock. I make the drive, and they don't have the sander. I check with an associate, who confirms they only have the floor model in stock, in the system. I check online, still says they have many in stock. I was irritated that I made the drive for nothing, and I don't understand the point of having an online system that confirms something is in stock if it's not (unless the goal is to get people in the door and hope they'll just buy the more expensive option that is in stock, hmm). But, despite the frustration, I shrugged it off. These things happen. For my other project, I needed some cedar lumber. So, getting that, the weekend won't be a total wash and I can still get some work done. I find a couple of 8 foot sections that'll serve my purpose and then track down an associate to request the boards be cut in half so I can get them home in the SUV. The gentleman says they aren't using the saw today, because it made a funny noise. I respect the caution, but no word of whether/when they plan to get it fixed or alternative offered? It's a store full of things that cut. The boards I was holding were 1 inch thick. Surely the store has more than one saw, when it sells thousands of boards a month... TLDR: I came to the store for two simple things. Despite all information online saying both things were in stock and ready to roll, I left empty handed. I've now bought my sander from Bezos and I'll be getting my lumber elsewhere as well. Terrible experience. Only giving 2 stars because my daughter thought the seasonal decorations being sold were funny.
