As soon as I got up to the register, she immediately told me that the jewelry supplies I wanted to buy weren't on sale. I told her they were because there was a sign in the aisle, it was on the weekly ad, and it's on sale on the website. None of that mattered because the wording on the weekly ad didn't explicitly match word-for-word the product line on the item. (The product line is called The Gilded Age Timeline, and the ad just uses Timeline by Bead Treasures.) Then I had to show her the back of the item card where the rest of the brand details were located to which she complained that the print was too small. (After getting home, I see even more that the item card specifically states Timeline by Bead Treasures.) In spite of all that, she still had to call over for a CSM to confirm that I was telling her the truth. I have shopped at Hobby Lobby for more than 20 years, and I have NEVER been treated this way by a cashier. I stood my ground because I knew the items were on sale. I regularly watch for certain items in the jewelry supply to go on sale, and I base my purchases accordingly. To be talked to in such a manner...I should have just left and refused the items. I wonder how many other customers she has spoken to in a similar manner and the customers either didn't buy the item or paid more than they should have. I work with the public on a daily basis. There is a right way and a wrong way to get your point across, especially when you represent a business. I may never shop at this location again if this is the level of customer service they provide.
