I had a pretty disappointing experience at Hobby Lobby. I asked a younger employee for help finding a specific product, and instead of assisting me, they completely ignored me and went off to chat with coworkers. It felt unprofessional and frustrating, especially since I just needed quick help. I did end up finding what I needed on my own, but customer service like that really takes away from the shopping experience. I hope management takes a closer look at how employees interact with customers, because being acknowledged and helped should be the bare minimum.

Does anyone know what this button does? I’ll tell ya. Is an alarm that rings inside of hobby lobby. Like literally an alarm. My son was waiting for his grandma to finish checking out. He was in sight, just staying outside with our poodle. He’s 10, and like most kids is curious. He saw the gold button and proceeded to press it a couple times. Not knowing what it does. But again he’s a kid. If I was present I’d tell him no, you don’t know what it does. Again, I’m an adult he’s a kid. 10 year olds don’t process questions like that. A worker goes out and screams at him, “ no, no stop!” All while pointing at him. Like any kid who gets yelled at by a stranger he got startled and uneasy. My mom confronted her and told her to not yell at him. She could’ve simply asked him to stop. And explain to him it’s an alarm! There are no signs next to the button stating it’s an alarm. Nor does it have a lid to cover it. It’s just there open to the public. I’m not the kind of mother that defends her kid no matter what. If he’s doing something that needs correct, by all means. Set him straight. But do not yell or scream at him. Don’t belittle him. Just like any human being, you talk to them with respect and dignity. I got there to help my mom load her items to the pick up oblivious to what had just happened. I go to the counter where she’s at and she’s telling me what happened. I’m confused by it all cause what button are you talking about. The manager whose name is Joshep was behind us listening and he said, “he didn’t have to push it as many times as he did.” I said, “he’s a kid…” he responded, “yea he still didn’t need to push it as many times. It is what it is.” So you’re justifying your adult employee yelling at my 10 yr old because he pushed a button a couple times. As if my son knew it was an alarm and he did it out of malice?… let me annoy all of hobby lobby real quick. Absolutely not. The manager never apologized for his employees behavior. He just walked away. The cashier was more professional than him and the employee combined. They were not professional on how they handled the situation. I honestly didn’t even think it was a big deal. But don’t treat my kid like he knew it was an alarm and did it out of malice. He was just a 10yr old acting like a kid. All they simply had to do is tell him it’s an alarm and to please stop. That’s it, that simple. Treat children like you’d treat your own. Or like their parent is standing next to them. Do better Joshep!
