Full disclosure: This review is a commentary on Lowes as a whole, but this local store needs to address one key problem so I find it fitting to post here. I purchased a tarp on Lowes' website last week and chose for it to be delivered to this store as I was concerned it might get damaged in the mail. I quickly picked it up before work and inspected it after leaving. The tarp had a 2 inch slice from a box cutter blade and with regards to that, should have never left the warehouse. That is my first issue. I returned it rather painlessly on Monday and was informed that the purchase would have to be returned to the original method of payment and I was told I was getting money back on a gift card. Again I was in a hurry so quickly pocketed the "gift card" I was given. Today while attempting to make a purchase online with this card, I was shocked to find out it was a "store credit" card, which has less redeeming value than a gift card as cannot be used online. I went back to the store to see if I could exchange this card for a legitimate gift card and was informed nothing could be done as this was the new policy. This is an oversight that needs to be addressed. If it was explained to me properly I probably wouldn't have returned the tarp without making a call to the customer service line to ensure it truly be returned to the original method of payment. I'd like stress that this is a deceitful practice as Lowes is not clear that they do not return purchases to the original payment method in cases of gift cards. I will have a hard time choosing Lowes in the future.

Just bought a dewalt air compressor, 159.00, got to work, opened it up, this thing was dirty and scuffed up, definitely used. Called the store , was on hold for a manager about 20 minutes . Sorry customer service! But my biggest problem was why was this on the shelf to start with? This particular store has always been sub par, now they have gotten worse

My experience at this Lowe’s was unbelievably frustrating thanks to two employees—Cameron and Daniel—whose combination of incompetence and the need to be right created one of the worst customer service encounters I’ve ever had. We came in looking for a Christmas tree. The display tree was labeled as Balsam Hill, but the only box available said GE 7.5 ft Slim Aspen—two entirely different companies. The display tree had four different tags: two marked GE and two marked Balsam Hill. Because of the conflicting signage, we tried to be thorough: we pulled the coordinating box that matched the SKU on one of the display tags, and even that box did NOT match the Balsam Hill tree on display. The first employee told us, confidently but incorrectly, that GE and Balsam Hill were “the same thing.” That was already questionable. We wanted a second opinion.Things got worse when Cameron stepped in. She brought over the same GE box and insisted—again with absolute confidence—that it was the Balsam Hill tree. When we pointed out that the box said nothing about Balsam Hill, she doubled down, claiming they were “made in the same manufacturing facility” and that Balsam Hill just used GE lights. If that were true, it would be clearly stated on the packaging. Instead of acknowledging that the display might have been mislabeled, both Cameron and Daniel became defensive and condescending. Cameron even said, “there’s nothing else to say,” while still insisting the trees were identical despite obvious discrepancies. To make things worse, Daniel couldn’t give a straight answer about the return policy. First it was 30 days, then 48 hours, then another employee told him something different—information he didn’t bother sharing with us. If you’re going to argue with customers, at least know your own store policies. We finally purchased the GE tree due to their insistence, and when we opened the box right there, it immediately proved what we suspected all along: it was NOT the same tree as the Balsam Hill display. The only redeeming part of this experience was the woman at the return desk. She was helpful, respectful, and actually took the time to find the correct SKU and help us order the right tree online. Meanwhile, Cameron and Daniel lingered around the return area, which was uncomfortable considering how they treated us earlier. If you’re going to speak confidently and dismiss customers, make sure you actually know what you’re talking about. And most importantly, treat people with respect. Misinformation delivered with arrogance is unacceptable, and that’s exactly what we encountered here.
