- LYLisa YoungFeb 4, 20262.0I want to give Hobbs Lobbs a glowing five-star review. They have a fantastic selection of all things crafty. I’m especially a fan of their picture frames, which are regularly 50% off. The Spartanburg store is clean and organized, and the employees are helpful and friendly. My problem with HL— and the reason for two stars instead of five— is probably more of a corporate issue because it’s like this at every HL I’ve ever visited. Checking out there is such an ordeal! The lines are always ridiculously long, and I can’t help but wonder if HL as a company values my time as much as they do my money. Just today, I literally had to put everything back and leave because I had somewhere to be and didn’t have time to wait in line. I’m sure they’ll be fine without my $10 or whatever, but that’s not really the point. One easy fix for this would be having every employee (including, and especially, managers) register-trained and prepared to help out up front when things get busy. HL also really needs to bring its registers into the 21st century, for crying out loud. Those cashiers, bless their hearts, have to look up everything instead of scanning a UPC. Having tap to pay would also save time.
