When we finally got the “Ready for Pickup” email, my wife drove 30 minutes to the store… only to be given one item. We checked the shelves ourselves and found the other five sitting out for sale. Even though they were physically in the store, we were told they couldn’t complete the order. The only option was to cancel the online order and repurchase the items. That would’ve been frustrating but manageable—except the store refused to let us repurchase them. My wife’s new phone was having issues with Google Wallet, so we asked for a manual card entry. They refused. We asked if I could buy them online from home and have her pick them up. They refused that too because “there’s a process.” So the end result: • We paid for items • We weren’t allowed to take the items • We were refunded • And then we weren’t allowed to buy the exact same items sitting on the shelf After waiting a month, driving 30 minutes, and finding the items ourselves, we still left empty‑handed. This was our first truly disappointing experience with The Container Store, and it was bad enough that we’ll think twice before ordering online again.
