I had a web deal for a few months, then they raised it a fairly big amount and then again in a couple months right after that. I had to call to get it brought to a more reasonable rate, but not before being told that I'd be blackballed for price shopping if I shopped around and moved. When they finally agreed to look at my history, they concurred that two rate jumps in such a short period seemed on reasonable and they lowered it a bit, but they jacked it right back up to the crazy amount a couple weeks later. I get it. It's a business. And storage is all the rage in the real estate game right now. But if you look at the absolutely ridiculous number of storage locations going up right now, you'd think they think they're Amazon or something -except with ridiculously high prices, not low. The storage game is: Get you to move in to the point where it's a hassle to move all your stuff back out, and then jack up the rate to milk you as much as they can. But God forbid you mention the homeless people leaving needles next to the dumpster or living out back in the woods, because, after all, as long as they pay for a storage unit, they're welcome, too. 🤷♂️ Do yourself a favor and find a better way to store your things, or, at least, find a better company with which to do so. My guess is they're all the same and you should build an extra shed. You'd be way ahead in less than a year, dollar wise.
