- JHJason HawbakerMar 23, 20262.0Let me be clear, this review is about the way lowes as a company has decided to operate their check out lines, not about the store itself. With owning my own company, I'm in this store several times a week. Every time I go to check out at the self checkout, I have someone practically pushing to help me check out or walking around be like a buzzard. I go to self check out because it should be quicker and I know how to do it. If a customer needs help, there should be someone standing there to assist. But If I don't require help, leave me alone and don't make me feel like a criminal as I'm scanning my items. I'm assuming the reason for this is because after they installed the self check outs, theft increased quite a bit. Well, that was a dumb decision that anyone could have told you would happen. So, if you want employees to help lowes decrease theft, take away the self check outs and put the old ones back in. Otherwise, tell your employees to back off. I don't need harassed every time I check out of the store.

These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s.
