- IMIVAN MARKLEYMay 21, 20255.0I have a 10000 gallon above ground pool with a diatomaceous earth filter and a Hayward 1hp pump. My pump died on me and I was going to order a new one from dohenys but Leslie’s had one in stock and gave me a better price than dohenys. The pump was a perfect replacement and I had the filter system back up in no time. I really appreciate the great staff they have there they are very helpful always.

This year I've spent significant dollars on; salt due to bad readings, draining water to reduce bad salt readings, bad advice on mold and metals, bad advice on CYA levels and alkalinity. It really depends on who you get. Once upon a time Derek and his main guy ran the store. You could always get one of those two and you got great advice. No you have a pompous pool blowhard who enjoys talking down to you. If you don't have good customer service, what do you really get? YardandPool has prices that about half of what leslies charges and typically non-generic brands. You get baking soda for $4 vs leslies version for $20. Salt at wholesaler for $5 vs $10-15 at Leslies. HD charges 1/2 the price for chlorine & D.E. The only chemical that seems to be a fair deal is Muriatic acid. Literally everything else is overpriced. And with poor chemistry knowledge, does it matter what kind of deal you get. YardandPool seems to be the best deal.
