Lowe’s — I tried to give you a second chance after a terrible experience in 2019. Never again. Permanent blacklist.
Back in 2019, I bought a brand-new Craftsman lawn tractor from Lowe’s and they delivered it to my house in non-running condition: dead battery, missing oil cap, the whole thing. Insane.
After years of avoiding the store, I decided to give Lowe’s another try because they were open one hour later than Home Depot and I had a last-minute project to finish.
Tonight, I went through self-checkout with a cart full of plants and asked the manager at checkout, Alex, if someone could load a pallet of mulch into my truck with a forklift so I wouldn’t have to manually load 40+ bags after walking through the entire store, since the garden checkout was closed for the night.
She said she would page someone. A few minutes went by, nobody showed, and then she changed her answer to: “Not at this hour. We don’t have anybody available in gardening.”
Funny thing is, as I headed back toward gardening, I saw the employee she had paged sitting in a rocking chair in the outdoor furniture area, talking with a customer buddy of his and swearing up a storm. Meanwhile, I’m hand-loading 40+ bags of mulch onto a cart by myself. When I came back through about 10 minutes later, he was still sitting there talking.
I asked the customer service desk if that employee knew how to operate a forklift. They said yes.
So I went back to Alex at checkout with my cart full of mulch and called out the situation. She looked at me like I had five heads.
Poor management. Lazy staff. Horrible customer service.
I knew I should’ve waited and gone to Home Depot the next day.

We are done with this place. They can’t keep a management team for anything. Pros are ignored - you get no help - staff is miserable and nasty. Such a shame! This is why we are all going to Home Depot. Manager Josh refused to come out and even talk to us. We spend a fortune here. Not anymore. I’d rather order my shit online than have to pull teeth just to get any assistance. Spent 6 hours in Mt Pocono yesterday and the ASM Donna was incredibly helpful, polite and got us taken care of. They should just close this location……..

Good plant deals. I bought some clearance and then the clearance plant had to be adjusted and i had to wait a really long time for the nice manager to approve. There has to be a better way to do that.

I don't recommend this store. Their employees are untrained and broke my windows. Because of the delay, I ended up paying almost 2k more on my project and Lowe's doesn't feel that this is their problem. I got a lowly 50 dollars in Lowe's gift cards for my trouble. Doesn't Lowe's say they care? They know that this is wrong. I've been chatting with Lowe's corporate and they won't do anything about it. They used to give a hoot and compensate for losses if it was their fault. I know because I've known many people who work for Lowe's. I commend all of you who ban this store. Home Depot is only a mile away!
