Lowe’s is a great place for home improvement shopping. The store is clean, well laid out, and easy to navigate, which makes finding materials and tools quick and simple. The selection is solid, especially for hardware, paint, and home projects.

Be very aware of the store policies while shopping here and also understand that employees at this location will lie to not have to deal with the uncomfortable realities their policies present.
My daughter fell in love with an automated Christmas decoration here. My wife and I decided to buy it as a Christmas present on December 23. The store was sold out but sent us to warrington who had a floor model. Unfortunately the arm broke off of that once before we ever got it in the house (manufacturing failure on a weld between two pieces). Luckily on December 24 I was at the cowpath location and they somehow had one of the exact item in the shelf still brand new in the box with the factory seal. I bought that one and figured I would return the one that was an obvious manufacturing failure after we got through the holiday rush. Much to my dismay on Christmas eve. The second, factory sealed item was missing a piece from the box. Luckily I was able to use the two out of box failures to make one functional gift for my daughter .
When I returned one of the failures to Lowe's on December 26 I was informed that their policy is not to take back Christmas decorations after Christmas (totally understandable for someone that buys decorations, uses them for the season and then returns them). Obviously my situation was different since both items were nonfunctional directly out of the box and returned within two days of purchase. Again both failures but I was keeping one that I frankinsteined together and returning the other. They said no exceptions unless I reached out to the manufacturer and got a return authorization. I did this which took roughly three weeks. The manufacturer agreed that it was totally appropriate to return both items and seemed happy that I was only returning one. I came back to the same Lowe's, return authorization in hand and was now informed that it didn't matter that I got an rma and they weren't taking it back. Not only is this level of customer service abhorrent, but why would their employees waste a bunch of my time seeking an rma that they weren't going to honor anyway?
I had a similar experience with Lowe's two years ago. I bought a new dishwasher that was nonfunctional within 24 hours of installation. Their policy is that they do not take failing appliances back but rather make you wait for a service technician fix the problem. In that case we waited 6 weeks for our new dishwasher to be fixed. I should have learned my lesson the last time
At the same time Lowe's is filling their shelves with poor quality products (power tools, appliances, seasonal, etc) they are scaling back their return policy to make their poor quality decisions your problem instead of theirs. I won't be back. There are other hardware stores with better policies and similar prices. I hope someone can avoid the challenges I experienced through this review.

It appears that I’ve been charged multiple times for an order. How can I resolve this?
These charges are likely authorization holds that are placed throughout the life cycle of your order to ensure the funds are reserved for your purchase. When you place an order, your payment method is authorized for the full amount of the purchase. As items from your order ship, your payment is charged and the authorization is no longer held by Lowe’s. Orders shipped in multiple shipments will be charged separately at time of shipment; therefore, you may see multiple charges, but they'll never exceed the full amount of your order. For orders with longer lead times, your method of payment will be reauthorized to ensure funds remain available until your item is shipped. If you observe multiple pending authorizations, please contact your financial institution as each bank’s policies differ on how long authorizations are held.
