After the most rain storm I ever experienced as a pool owner I wast left with a black swamp. No panic I knew I could count on Fred (Manheim store) . I arrived there to a line of 12 people. Fred moved us along quickly testing 1 checking out another . We experience a master class as he diagnosed each of our unique problems. The advice he gave me my pool crystal clear within a couple of days. Thanks for your helpful solution.Stan E.

For those just starting out or not too familiar with pools, don't waste your time going to Leslie's. We are fairly new to pool ownership and about to enjoy our first full season. We took the cover off, started getting it cleaned up and I took a water sample to Leslie's Pool on Manheim Pike. I told them the size of the pool and that the liner is vinyl. Water test showed: CH 150, PH 7.0, TA 40, CYA 60, Phosphates 0. They gave me a print out that recommended adding Alkalinity up, Hardness Plus and weekly dosing of their Perfect Weekly. I asked them why I needed the Perfect Weekly and they told me to remove Phosphates. I was in a hurry, so I agreed to buy what they told me I "needed". My "free water test" ended up costing $233.00. Bottom line, I didn't need the $75.00 tub of Hardness Plus, as I have a vinyl liner and duh, I have no phosphates, so I didn't need their Weekly Plus. Total scam, preying on people who don't know any better and who wrongly trust the "experts". They should be ashamed. Glad I was able to return the Perfect Weekly, but I had already treated with the Hardness Plus before I realized their advice was BS and I unnecessarily and greatly raised the level of my Calcium Hardness. Do yourself a favor, and Google the website Trouble Free Pool, read through their Pool School articles and buy a GOOD test kit (TF-100 rocks or the Taylor K-2006). You may still need to go to Leslie's to get some supplies on occasion, but educate yourself, have an understanding of what you need before you walk in the door and don't become a victim of their money grab! For the most part, you don't need all of their fancy (and expensive supplies). Other than an occasional product, for the most part, all you need is liquid chlorine (same thing as Chlorox Bleach), baking soda and possibly some borax. All found in your grocery store or big box store (Walmart, Lowes, etc...).
