I had a chimney installed poorly by Nickos Fireplace. I called Chimney Guy to come out and inspect it. They did and told me it was shotty work and had holes in the piping and had gaps at elbow. They wrote up what they saw and I have the copy of it. When I asked them to install one of their stoves they refused saying they did not want to cause problems with their competitor. So they would rather allow me to be screwed! I did get a full refund from Nickos and now have another Fireplace company installing me a fireplace. I don't trust this company as they don't care if you get bad service, they will leave you in your misery!
p.s. got a FULL refund from Nickos

I wish I could give these guys a good review because they were nice people.
We paid thousands of dollars to have our firebox and smoke chamber parged and sealed, as this is what they recommended before we lit any fires in our fireplace.
After many attempts, they were unable properly seal the fireplace. We still get unsafe levels of smoke in our living room when we try to light a fire. They were nice to come out several times to add more sealant or whatever they thought to try, but in the end we were left with no improvement and $2,500 less in our bank account. Every time I look at my chimney I feel sadness and annoyance. The last time they were here they just shrugged their shoulders, said “I don’t know what else to do”, and walked out.
The work that Kevin did was high quality and they were tidy and respectful, and even came out at a late hour one time. So they really did try, but they could not give us the results they promised and what we paid for. I guess they didn’t want to deal with us anymore.
Another big issue with this group of nice folks was their poor responsiveness. We had to literally harass them every time to get them to keep an appointment. When we were able to get an appointment, they never arrived at the agreed time. I understand they were having personnel problems, but in the end the customer should not be expected to bear the burden of that.
Just being nice people isn’t enough. They were unprofessional and didn’t solve our problem and took our money anyway.
I really didn’t want to write this damaging review, but I am left with no other next steps. I wish them luck in getting it together, and I regret getting this work done.

Why do I need a chimney inspection?
The National Fire Protection Association recommends annual chimney inspections and cleanings. Regular inspections and repairs can significantly reduce your risk of experiencing a chimney fire.
Why does every chimney need a cap?
Chimney caps serve multiple important functions. They prevent rain and snow from entering the chimney, which can cause moisture damage and lead to costly repairs. Additionally, caps keep animals out of the chimney and prevent burning embers and sparks from escaping onto the roof or yard. For chimney sweeping or repair services, please contact our office.
Why is it important to clean your oil and gas furnaces?
Regular cleaning of oil and gas furnaces is crucial for several reasons. It helps prevent carbon monoxide leaks, improves fuel efficiency, ensures consistent heating performance, extends equipment life, reduces allergens and pollutants in the air, and maintains warranty compliance.
